Clive, IA -(AmmoLand.com)- House File 2279 is scheduled for a vote in the full Senate today (3/16/16). The Hearing Protection Act will finally be voted on in the Iowa Senate.

The Senate begins their day at 9 AM, there are several bills scheduled for debate and votes ahead of the Hearing Protection Act, so it may take a while to get to HF2279. We’re happy to share a live stream link with you all and strongly encourage you to watch the Senate debate and vote on our bill.

There is an amendment that’s attached to the Hearing Protection Act, but it fixes some grammatical issues in the original bill. The original intent of the House bill remains intact. This is very good news! It is also more than can be said for the ATV Carry Act and the Privacy Protection Act, both of which have been heavily amended.

As it stands right now the only pro-gun owner bill being brought to the Senate floor today is the Hearing Protection Act. The ATV Carry and Privacy Protection Acts are still waiting to be scheduled for votes. Please use this time to email your Senator and encourage them to pass the ATV Carry Act and Privacy Protection Act without amendments.

This is a very exciting time Iowans! We’ll be providing updates today and sharing the outcome, good or bad, with you.

There will definitely be more updates coming soon. Keep rocking the boat folks!
