The supposed value of the CTC units was a very compact laser built into the grips; I can’t see any particular value in an externally-mounted unit like these when competing products are so much cheaper – not for a dollars’ worth of plastic holding a 10 cent switch and a $10 laser diode, even if the injection-molding tool cost $25 grand to make. Today we can buy an off-the-shelf Kinetics LC-01 for $85.95 for a green laser & LED flashlight combo (20% off during the holiday sale using code “LANDOFFREE”).
