Canyon County, ID -(AmmoLand.com)- 2016 has been a historic year for the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance.

First, we finally brought Permitless Carry to Idaho!

That is something we have been fighting for for years.  We couldn’t have done it without the tremendous support and passion of our members and supporters. YOU made a difference by calling and emailing our legislators and showing up in their districts when they weren’t listening.

During the 2016 primary season the ISAA educated voters in 4 legislative races.

3 of the 4 anti-2nd Amendment candidates were soundly rejected by their more pro-2nd Amendment challengers.

The legislators now know that you will not put up with votes against your gun rights.  They know that you are a force to be reckoned with.  They know that in Idaho, a vote against gun rights is likely the end of their political careers.

The work of strengthening Idaho’s gun rights isn’t done yet however.  There is much more to be done.

We recently told you about rallies we are doing across the State of Idaho to promote a better Castle Doctrine for Idaho.

We invite you to come and attend one of those rallies. You can find the details here: https://www.idahosaa.org/2016/07/15/your-castle-tour-dates-set/.

But we also need to send a loud and clear message that Idaho citizens want to see their Castle Doctrine upgraded.  For details on why Idaho needs a better Castle Doctrine please see the video we did with our attorney, Alexandria Kincaid, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8NqGfWyTWs.

In order to make this happen we need YOUR HELP once again!

One of the first things you can do is to SIGN the PETITION TODAY and send a clear message to our legislators that we need this Castle Doctrine upgraded.

The petition can be found here: https://www.idahosaa.org/castle-doctrine-petition/.

Why does Idaho need a new Castle Doctrine?

The video explains it all but in summary, if a criminal breaks into your home in Idaho it is NOT necessarily justification to shoot him.  You must prove that he intended to do you harm.

That is NOT what a gun owner should have to worry about when someone breaks into their home.

It should not be on you, as the victim, to have to prove your innocence.  It should be the criminals job to prove that you maliciously killed him!

That’s why it is important that we get this law upgraded ASAP. We can’t rely on juries or judges to defend law abiding gun owners.

After you have signed the petition make sure to share it with all your family, friends, neighbors, and more that live in Idaho.  We will need all the help we can get next year when we push this bill.

Yesterday was the 4 year anniversary of the ISAA’s founding.  We have come a long way but we have a long way to go before our work is done.

With Democrats and phony conservatives continuing to gain power in the Idaho statehouse, our work may never be done.

Sincerely,

Greg Pruett
President, ISAA

P.S. Our staff of volunteers continues to work tirelessly for your gun rights. Please consider a generous donation to keep us going.

A home is where you legally sleep. That should include a place where you’re an invitee, a legal guest to defend against the unlawful intruder. But it must also include the motel or hotel in your room or suite.

Your place of work should be included. Your car is often only covered from a carjacking of an occupied vehicle. A driver alone is often not covered when outside pumping gas.

Lots of common situations can and should be covered by Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground laws.
