USA -(Ammoland.com)- Tuesday, November 15, the Board of Directors for the 22nd District Agricultural Association will hold an informational discussion on the use of the fairgrounds for gun shows.

This Association controls the day-to-day operations of the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego County.

The discussion is a direct result of a request from a handful of anti-gun residents demanding the Board discontinue the use of the Fairgrounds for gun shows.

This isn’t the first time the gun ban lobby has targeted gun shows held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

In 2013, the Del Mar City Council adopted a resolution that urged the Board of Directors to not renew any contract with Crossroads of the West or any other gun show sponsor.

Thankfully, the Board of Directors recognized that as a public entity, it cannot discriminate against who can or cannot use the Fairgrounds.

Currently, the agenda lists this as an information item, not an action item.

However, it is critical that gun owners and Second Amendment supporters attend to let their voices be heard.

Story may be accurate but the picture shows Kentucky State Police Troopers at the NRA Annual Convention summer 2016. Maybe a note that KY has no problem with major gun shows setting up at Ky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville Ky is in order.

The meeting went well for Pro Gun Show attendees. Approximately one third of the 30 or so people who showed up to voice their opinions were part of the anti gun show group, Advocates for Gun Safety. They used a lot of the anti-gun statements and mis-information used during the presidential campaign. Fortunately they went first. After they used up their allotted time, approximately 20 people, some representing groups like the San Diego County Wildlife Federation, The California Rifle and Pistol Association, San Diego Gun Owners, local NRA members group and many more individuals and companies. While not scripted, we… Read more »
