NEWTOWN, Conn – -( President-elect Donald Trump will nominate Alabama U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions as attorney general, several news sources are reporting today.

Sessions was the first senator to endorse Trump and served as a trusted adviser during the campaign.

Prior to the Senate, Sessions served as Alabama attorney general in the mid-1990s and was the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Alabama during the Reagan administration.

The attorney general’s position is arguably the most important of the cabinet positions with regard to the firearms industry.

His A+ rating from the NRA validates Sessions’ strongly pro-gun record as an elected official.

About NSSF  The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 6,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers. For more information, log on to

I believe Sessions will do a good job, but I really wanted to see Trey Gowdy get this position. I’m not sure how much of a bulldog attitude that Sessions will have. However I would support either.

Do you worry about his stance on immigration? I do not, I heard him speak the other day and he said why do we allow ILLEGALS to come here and work for almost nothing and take welfare then pay citizens to be on the unemployment rolls and pay them. This is a circle that will be broken one way or another. Either by controling the problem or running out of money. When they are called ILLEGAL it is not just a nickname, it is a fact and a law and needs to be punished if broken.

he is far better than Ogayarabs picks. Get a grip liberal progressive democrats and namby pamby republicans. You lost and President Trump gets to pick his cabinet.

He may be great on guns but I worry about the rest of his agenda.
