USA -(Ammoland.com)- The Mako Group is proud to announce that Christopher Means has joined the team as the new director of Distribution and OEM.
Means joins The Mako Group in New York after an impressive career in the firearms industry.
Means began his career as a buyer at Outdoor Sports Headquarters in Dayton, Ohio after working for several sporting goods retailers in different capacities. Bangers, a firearms retailer in Birmingham, Alabama, recruited Means to set up a new category and run their merchandising department.
After nine years with Bangers, he moved to South Carolina and took a job with Ellett Brothers as director of purchasing. There, he helped drive the company to triple their sales volume between 2004 and 2010.
After that, Means spent the next six years at Big Rock Sports in a similar role before starting 2017 in his new role with The Mako Group.
Means’ main goal at The Mako Group is to strengthen the distribution network by building new relationships and growing overall revenue in that segment. In addition to that, Means will work closely with firearms manufacturers across the industry to design new models incorporating the brands represented in the US by Mako – FAB Defense, Meprolight and Front Line.
Through those new OEM partnerships, Means hopes to grow awareness of these premier accessories and put them at the forefront of consumers’ thought processes when making decisions on how to customize their firearms for fit, function, performance and appearance.
In addition to building a solid career in the firearms industry, Means organizes and runs a shooting event twice a year that introduces new participants to shooting sports who have never fired a weapon before.
For the past six years, several hundred people have attended the event and many of which are now gun owners.
