Ft Collins, CO –-(Ammoland.com)- Right now, I don’t recommend offshore travel, particularly recreational travel, for most Americans. You can experience all the “quality time” you can handle at any number of vacation destinations within CONUS, while exposing yourself to far less risk than will be the case offshore.

But, some places are more dangerous than others:

Our State Department periodically issues “warnings” with regard to certain countries and areas, and my advice is to take them seriously! However, there are some places that have never been on a warning list that are also extremely dangerous!

Tours,” where you’re with a group of Americans who are readily identified as such, particularly those with a religious theme, and particularly when they go to the Mid-east are to be especially avoided. Christian and Jewish historic sites are dangerous places!

Hotels, restaurants, and night-clubs that cater to foreign tourists are also best avoided, as are tour-busses that are conspicuously identified on the outside!

The foregoing applies, no matter where you plan on going, even to places like the UK and Australia.

Ten most dangerous foreign destinations for Americans are:

  • Pakistan
  • Thailand
  • Philippines
  • Haiti
  • Honduras
  • Nigeria
  • Belize
  • Guyana
  • Egypt
  • Mexico

However, the foregoing just reflects “data,” and does not take into account specific terrorist targeting of Americans and other Westerners.

My advice is to stay away from any place in the Mideast and all other places where Islamics are in charge, any place in Mexico, all of south and central America, all of west Africa, all of southeast Asia.

Israel is actually pretty “safe,” at least in relative terms, so long as you stay away from religious sites. But of course, visiting religious sites is the reason most people go to Israel!

Again, “risk” attaches to everything we do, even doing nothing. The trick is to analyze risk honestly, absent personal bias. Your worst enemy is always your own prejudice!

Finally, don’t underestimate the cleverness and determination of Islamic terrorists! They are in every part of the world. They are relentless and plotting continuously. This grave situation will not improve during our lifetimes!

“One of the most dangerous of erroneous beliefs is that civilization is automatically bound to increase and spread. The lesson of history exactly is the opposite; civilization is a rarity, attained with difficulty and easily lost. The normal state of humanity is barbarism, just as the normal surface of the planet is salt water. Land looms large in our imagination, and civilization in history books, only because sea and savagery are, to us, less interesting.” ~ CS Lewis

    1. Ah yes, Cambodia where they use human excrement in the fields and to feed fish meant for human consumption. Thus disease goes from the human population to the fields and back to the human population again. Water that has microbes, viruses that jump species, and tropical spores that don’t even have names yet, much less cures. I guess everyone should bring a souvenir back from their cheap vacation.

    2. I would like to recommend Cambodia, I went 5 years ago or so and it was beautiful. The people were very friendly, everything was a lot cheaper there. In regards to food, lodgings, transportation things couldn’t have been better. The people there have this one sport they play constantly, haggling over prices. They enjoyed it so much sometimes I couldn’t keep myself from laughing, not when I was involved but watching other people haggle over a price would just crack me up. I never payed more than $ 20. US for a room that ranked right up there with Holiday Inn or Best Western. I was there for two weeks and I think it was $ 3. US to have room service wash and press all my clothes.
The people were really friendly but I had a trusted interpreter which made the visit pretty stress free. I was in a big city for only 3 or 4 days but the rest was in a smaller city called Battam Bong for most of my trip and figured out it was kinda big too. Anyway, I would recommend Cambodia as a vacation destination for sure. I was out in the countryside a lot and it was some of the most beautiful and green land I’ve ever seen. Make sure to bring your pills for if you drink any of their water by accident. I was down 24 hours for getting a bowl of soup that wasn’t heated hot enough.

    3. Yeah, gil how about u visiting Chitcago with all its gun confiscation/control as managed by the democraps. Criminal coddlers like u prefer unarmed defenseless victims. As noted like in south africa. Puthetic. And a FATAL disease.
As u said,”Self-styled heroes would want to go to dangerous places if they want the title of being a true badass” so bring it on. If not, stay in London. And back to ur basement. Lights out!

    4. My passport will stay dusty right in my damn safe and that is fine. And a good point – there are plenty of very dangerous places within the US and that is disgusting. I hope the “Democraps” are happy with themselves…keep voting for those wastes of human life.

    5. If the word “Islamic” is associated with a destination…don’t go. In fact, if the words “refugees welcome” is associated with a destination…don’t go.

    6. Hey! The whole world is a dangerous place. Conduct yourself accordingly. Like they used say in the insurance business -“Causation is the thief of our tomorrows!”

      1. How about St. Louis, New Orleans and Memphis; along with Washington DC and Philadelphia? P.S. ‘Israel is pretty save’?

    7. Self-styled heroes would want to go to dangerous places if they want the title of being a true badass. They would come home to America with all sorts of bragging rights.

      1. Idiot! It was Teddy Roosevelt who said “Walk softly and carry a big stick. In your case a little twig and a big mourh.

      2. More ignorant crap from Gil, the little kid with no testicles, brain, that needs his ‘safe space’ !

      3. Well Gillie, why don’t you go? Then you could come home to America and secure your bragging rights. You might be in a wooden box, but you would still have your ‘bragging rights’. I’ll help you with airfare.

          1. You have either lead a very sheltered life or you are a complete idiot. A simple argument in this political climate can be come deadly in a heartbeat. An example is the 60 year old man that was beaten almost to death by a group of 19 black teenagers. I’m sure he walked up to this group and told them he could whip all of them. As for me I might have still been beaten, but there would have been some dead ash**** laying around me. There is an old saying, don’t start a fight with an old armed man. He is too old to take a whipping, and will just kill you.

      4. I would have liked to visit only Australia, but that was years ago. Since they went anti-gun, I have no more interest in visiting them. I’ll stay home and no longer visit either coast, CO, NM, IL and the other Democrat/Liberal/Socialist states. The wife always wanted to go to Hawaii and I told her to get after it. I have no interest in them, either. I am happy in Mid-America with the rest of the conservative folks.
