CA, “leading the way,” once more!

CA’s AG maintains a “Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale.” As you might imagine, the list of handguns that may be legally purchased in CA is continuously shrinking!

The state, through its justice department, has functionally established the goal of phasing-out the lawful purchase of all autoloading pistols (regardless of capacity) by citizens, including retired LEOs. No timetable has been officially set, but most believe the list of “decertified” handguns will include all autoloaders by the end of 2019.

Ultimate status of existing handguns in private possession, that have been subsequently dropped from the “List,” is currently unknown, but forced confiscation is a safe bet!

Thus before long, CA residents may be looking to 7/8-shot 38/357 revolvers currently manufactured by S&W and Ruger for home defense, and 5/6-shot revolvers for carrying, such as the Kimber K6, new Colt Cobra, Ruger LCR, and S&W’s 340PD 5-shot snubby

It may be no coincidence that Colt is currently re-introducing its 6-shot Cobra revolver (38Spl), Kimber came out with their excellent K6 revolver (357Mg), and Ruger has recently introduced its eight-shot Redhawk (357Mg)!

Before it is all over, the Supremes may rule, in five years, maybe twenty. In the interim, down here in peon-land, all we can do is prepare and otherwise look after our own best interests, a strategy which may include moving to another state!

Problem with people from CA and the NE area is they bring their liberal ideas with them and corrupt the free states they move into, when escaping their liberal paradise. Please stay away!!

Regarding CA, unless there is a ruling from SCOTUS, they are way past the point of no return. A few other States are headed that way including Virginia. It may take a few years, possibly even a decade, but, again, absent a decision by SCOTUS there are a number of States that will turn Liberal because of voting blocks in major cities.

Bandit

Not all who live in CA are liberals, there are a great many conservatives in the state but of course we get lumped in with the libs that is not a good thing to do. There are areas in Texas that are just about as liberal as san fransicko, so I could say the same thing about Texas but I will not, just because we ha vs politicians that hate everything about the US Constitution there are those who are trying to change things in the state, by voting those extreme liberals out.

Wild Bill

@Bandit, If Ca could rid itself of the huge number of illegal aliens that vote and tilt the elections, I think that Ca might save itself. President Eisenhower got rid of nearly all illegal aliens in the US in about a week, back in 1953 in an operation called “Wetback”. First Eisenhower got rid of the INS bureaucrats that said it could not be done. Those bureaucrats sat at the pleasure of the president, and they no longer pleased him. Second, Pres. E let the courts know that his agencies followed his orders, not theirs. Finally, he put a former… Read more »

Yeah Bandit. Point right on the money. I’m stuck here too. Go State of Jefferson..!!

gary

I’m a member of Nevada County for the State of Jefferson and we are working hard to split off from the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia. I’m a native of Alabama and lived/worked in the NYC suburbs for many years before coming to California. Nevada County, a very rural part of the State in the foothills of the Sierra, is being overrun by communists from Sacramento and the SF Bay area (where I used to live). This is diluting our conservative/libertarian votes and, frankly, we’re barely hanging on.

Gary (MBA, JD, PhD)

Ken, State of Jefferson

Hey, we’re not all leftist fruit cakes. About a third of the people here voted for Trump if you believe the election results. We’re not going to suddenly become leftist fruit cakes when we return to the United States. California is in the process of seceding, in fact, not by declaration. So many of us want to go back to the US while we can.

Hardtimes

I am a Californian, I WILL STAND MY GROUND and pray for others to do like wise. I fought the communist in Vietnam in 68-69, didn’t run them, WON’T RUN NOW. SEMPER FI MARINES

COME AND TAKE THEM FROM MY COLD DEAD FINGERS……

Florida Boy

I grew up in California back in the good old days. I remember Moonbeam’s father as governor and Alan Cranston (Senator) begin to take the state down even back then. Now the state is hopelessly lost. I moved out of that toilet back in 1985 and never looked back. I would suggest to all other states to send their welfare cases, illegal immigrants and criminals to California where they will be welcomed with open arms into their sanctuary cities. (Isn’t that the compassionate PC thing to do?) Then the rest of us can get on with our lives and actually… Read more »

@Fla Boy, When I was growing up, every little town in Mn would buy a sandwich and a one way ticket to Los Angeles for every vagrant, homosexual, drug addicts and petty criminal that ran afoul of their particular community. It was the cheapest way to handle things.

Wild Bill

Gus ticket.

Wild Bill

Bus ticket.

Florida Boy

I think that is an excellent solution. Let that sorry state secede and then build the wall around it to keep those idiots from polluting the rest of the country. Let those elitist Silicon Valley millionaires pay for the “free” healthcare, sanctuary cities and the “free” education for the leaches and illegal aliens.

The Second Amendment is in place TO ENABLE THE “CAPABILITY” of Americans, through ownership of EFFECTIVE firearms, to collectively KEEP SECURE THEIR FREEDOMS AND PROVIDE THEIR SECURITY. Americans are not helpless to the subjugation of totalitarian rule. However, if the EVOLVING TO TYRANNY government DISARMS US – OR – EFFECTIVELY DISARMS US – (As their goal is to “TAKE THE CAPABILITY”) . . . AND EVERYONE COMPLIES – SURRENDERS THEIR FIREARMS – INCREMENTALLY IF NOT TOTALLY . . . THEY WILL GLADLY TAKE EVERYTHING WE ARE WILLING TO COMPLY WITH SURRENDERING!!! THE MORE WE WILLINGLY SURRENDER – THE MORE THEY… Read more »

Just a slow method of banning all handguns. It’s still a GUN BAN!!

KSG

I was born and raised in the bay area. 50+ years in the bay. I was raised with a loaded, full auto hanging in the closet. I got my hunting license at 13 years old. I was taught at a young age to respect and appreciate firearms. I was using a firearm to make a living at 16 years old. I have lots of guns! Not everybody in california is a left-wing idiot. Yet where I live I can’t get a permit to carry. Me and my family have had enough of this democrat majority bullshi*. We are selling our… Read more »

Wild Bill

@KSG, Three things: How were you making living with a firearm at 16? Our previously worthless property was and is not exactly worthless. And finally, how would you like to trade some property for that full auto thing that you have hanging in the closet?

KSG

@ wild bill-Working in a slaughterhouse. All right you got me, $5 isn’t worthless. My uncle took the full auto. If i still had it, i would definitely trade you for property. Have you figured out wich way to carry your shotgun yet?

Wild Bill

@KSG, Pointed down!

I am in the process of moving from a very Red county in California to the very Red state of Idaho, as after all but two years (Army 1966-68) of 70 years of residence in California, I’ve had it with the Gay Mafia controlled Loonie Bin that is the state legislature and 9th Circuit Court. At what point did tax payers start funding sex changes for state prisoners, (illegal) “sanctuary” lives for the worst of the worst from Mexico & Central America then the incessant dismemberment of the 2nd amendment that was enshrined to protect us from those very Nortenos,… Read more »

Exactly. ..moving to the Potato state as well. With my conservative views and my collection…

I have a neighbor next door to me and one across the street who “escaped” from California within the last five years. Both are Hispanic, married with children. The one to the north side of me flies his Tea Party flags and both of them are owners of multiple guns. They said their reason for leaving California was the left wing garbage was getting much worse. They both have been fine additions to the State of Oklahoma.

I currently live in kommiefornia. Have most of my life. The brite side here gents…… I’m a Reagan Conservative, and a bit further to the right. I am actively seeking comfort outside of my current state boundaries. So, you all needn’t worry what I’m brining with me politically. Remember, there are those us here that just can’t pick up move, but have to work at it. Granted, the gun list here is vaporizing, and most of my shooting irons will be on the confiscation list altho bought legally here. Go figure. I see the tide here in kommiefornia radically shifting… Read more »

Folks in California have said time and again “we can’t move, we can’t find work, we have family…” etc. At what point does oppression become so burdensome that you simply cannot tolerate it anymore and those in the State flee en masse? I guess not yet!

Shawn M.

Quitting wont help, I’m pretty sure. Sorry, leaving the fight sounds like a quit to me, just making it harder on the fighters.

Clark Kent

‘Help’ what? California is a lost cause for gun owners. Best to cut your losses while you still can and move out of state.

Shawn M.

When your right, your right. I have always liked the Arizona desert. Time to throw in the towel and skidaddle out of Calaf$#kya. I’m gonna miss the…aah no I’m not.

Wild Bill

The first gun show that I ever went to was in Quitman, Texas. I met no less that four other gentlemen that had retired, quietly sold everything in Ca, and moved to Texas with their fortunes. They were working the Texas State Rifle Association booth. I bought a life membership and a Para Ordinance 14/45 with four magazines.

Terence Colligan

I left California in 1980 and never looked back. Pure Michigan is my forever home!

Clark Kent

One step forward; two steps backwards for you….

John Dunlap

How are you dealing with the Dearborn problem up there? Just pointing out that the same tactics that ruined California are being applied in most other states. Borders are not magical barriers. There is no escape. We either stand and fight together, or we will be enslaved one town, one state, at a time.

hippybiker

I understand the plight of the people in Kalifornicate but please if you move to my State, leave that Bull Sh*t behind you. hippybiker in Florida.

Old guy

Florida has their problems too. It is know as the hanging Chad State. Where stupid voters left a piece of paper on the ballot .

Bill

I’ve moved, and glad to be FROM Ca!!

Old 1811

When I lived in Northern Virginia I looked at the California list because DC uses the same list, and I wanted to be legal when I carried in DC under LEOSA. What I found out is, the list has expiration dates! In other words, a specific gun (identified by SKU) may be legal today, but its legality will lapse in two years unless the manufacturer submits a new model for testing. (This is, of course, a ploy to make getting on the list so onerous that manufacturers won’t bother.) And (natch!) if the manufacturer makes any changes whatsoever to the… Read more »
