Berryville, Arkansas-(Ammoland.com)- Nine members of the Wilson Combat shooting team traveled to the brand new Cameo Shooting and Education Complex in Palisade, Colorado to shoot the Inaugural Colorado State IDPA Championship. Team Wilson Combat finished strong by taking home 4 Division Championship titles, along with four second-place finishes, one third place finish and multiple category awards.

At the top of the game shooting his CQB Elite was Austin Proulx with the title of CDP Division Champion, Most Accurate, High Industry, and finishing 1st overall!

“This was the inaugural event at CSEC, consisting of 12 challenging courses of fire on this incredible new range. There were a lot of moving targets that kept things interesting and lured shooters into pushing their pace.” – Austin Proulx

Placing 2nd overall in the match and only 1.11 seconds behind Austin was Distinguished Master, Glenn Shelby.

“I enjoyed that the match had optional ways to shoot the stages. This particular match had 12 challenging stages with multiple activators and moving targets. At the end of the day I dropped more points than usual because of the longer shots and fast-moving targets.” – Glenn Shelby

Walt Proulx placed 3rd in the CDP Division and finished as 5th overall.

“The complexity of the stages and the pace of the very large squad that I was on made for a great Nationals tune-up. Because I helped organize the match I was very distracted leading up to it. But, I managed to shoot all 12 stages without any major train-wrecks. This allowed me to shoot a very consistent match ‘below the radar’ and finish well on all the stages.” – Walt Proulx

Earning the title of ESP Division Champion and 3rd overall was B.J Norris.

2nd place in the ESP Division was Mandy Bachman, who also was awarded the title of High Lady.

“This was a tough match. There were multiple hard shots. I really tried to play it safe on most of the stages and shoot the match in a way that was comfortable to me. I was on a roll during the first 8 stages of the match but had a couple of hiccups on the last few stages.” – Mandy Bachman

In the SSP Division, Greg Martin earned the title of Division Champion as well as being awarded with overall High Senior.

Jared Phillips was right behind Greg with the 2nd place finish in the SSP division.

Representing Wilson Combat in the CCP division was Pat Doyle and Guy Joubert. Pat Doyle snatched up the CCP Division Champion title with Guy Joubert close behind as 2nd overall in CCP and 1st place CCP Expert.

“The match was set up in a way that gave shooters many options on how to attack the stages which I like. There were plenty of opportunities to play it safe or take a gamble.” – Guy Joubert

Congratulations team! Wilson Combat is proud of you!

September 14th-15th the team will be shooting the 2018 IDPA US National Championship in Talladega, Alabama. Stay tuned for more results!
