Grand River, IA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Climbing trees to hunt is not anything new or novel but the way stands go up and are accessed has come a long ways. Traditional tree stands were often accessed from improvised ladders that were nailed directly into the tree. While effective, the steps eventually rot, nails are not reliable and the ladder is only applicable to permanent stand locations.

Then along came tree stands with full ladders fixed to the stand. These are still around and remain effective but are semi-permanent. Mobility is not an option here and the ladders are highly visible. Intelligent hunters place these stands months in advance so the deer become accustomed to the bulky ladders. As tree stands became lighter and more mobile friendly, the need for effective, portable climbing systems grew. Simple climbing pegs that screw into the tree hit the market and they remain effective as an ultra-portable option. Pegs do not, however, deliver much in the way of stability and safety.

Stands were developed to climb in the same fashion as a lineman. These climbing stands are exceptionally portable but are also a higher risk and require a clean, straight tree to ascend. Then climbing sticks hit the market as a viable means of climbing without the bulk of a full ladder.

Ladder sticks have so many great qualities that make them the best solution to climbing. They are low visibility, portable and provide a safer means of climbing than pegs or a climbing style stand. But, throughout the years designs eventually fail. Traditional climbing sticks have weak joints, bolts that break and moving parts that fail. They are especially prone to failure with hunters who use them regularly. While ladder sticks make sense, the designs simply have not been up to par until Stacked Outdoors solved the major pitfalls in normal ladder stick construction.

The Stacked Outdoors ladder sticks are incredibly lightweight at 9.4 pounds without straps for a full stack of 4. However, the lightweight design does not sacrifice on durability. There are no bolts or screws to break and no weld joints to fail. The non-metal construction material allows these sticks to grab the tree and hold-on unlike the metal sticks of yesterday.

Stacked Outdoors ladder sticks stack like red solo cups and are easily transported. When stacked for transport, a stick section is nested into the section below it, providing an ultra-quiet and compact solution. Additionally, they remain rigid and durable while cutting out excessive weight, noise and inefficient packing systems. Strap them to a tree and they will stick and provide a stable climbing platform.

Stacked Outdoors has designed the ultimate solution for mobility and security in the ladder stick market to help hunters climb safely and more efficiently.
