U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- Two people were killed in a planned rampage murder in Halle, Germany on 9 October, 2019.  Two more people were seriously injured and rushed to the hospital.

The attack was originally planned to massacre Jews at a local synagogue. But the synagogue had been recently fortified and closed-circuit TV cameras added to its security system. The increased fortification foiled the attack by preventing the attacker from gaining access.

In frustration, he killed two random Germans and wounded two others. He was captured by police and later confessed. From theguardian.com:

A German synagogue targeted in an attempted mass shooting this week had been upgraded to fortify its main entrance and install security cameras, measures that probably saved the lives of dozens of people hiding inside.

The attack on Wednesday in the city of Halle left two people dead but the number could have been much higher as the gunman failed to break through the synagogue door, despite repeatedly shooting at it and attempting to blast it open with an improvised bomb.

The murderer live-streamed the events and had posted a “manifesto” of sorts online. Part of the manifesto was a description of the homemade weapons used by the attacker. Because of a news-blackout of the weapons. Mike Lindsay of the United Kingdom captured the information and wrote an article exposing the significant amount of weaponry the attacker had made at home. The attacker not only made homemade guns. His ammunition was homemade, as were a number of grenades and explosive charges. Mike agreed to allow publication of his article on AmmoLand News, as long as attribution was given. From Mike-lindsay.co.uk:

Thanks to the unique way social media censors the truth I will put the post that was originally on my page here. As a Journalist I find it extremely disturbing that a platform is censoring news and my views were deemed worthy of deletion.

Halle Germany.

A psychopath killed two people outside a synagogue in the eastern German city of Halle on Wednesday, filming his attack on a head-mounted camera and live streaming it in a method that was reminiscent of the attack on two New Zealand mosques earlier this year.

His firearms were homemade.

Below is from his “manifesto”.

Can we now admit that gun control doesn’t stop a madman with murderous intent?

Can we now admit it isn’t the object but rather the person using it that is the problem?

I will say it once more, these firearms are homemade, the ammunition is homemade, his explosives are homemade.

He successfully managed to kill 2 innocent people even with his crude ammunition and makeshift firearms.

You cannot legislate your way to safety by assuming the guilt of every citizen.

Your gun control failed.

Mike's point is that the German gun control failed. The murderer made his own, homemade weapons, and his own, homemade ammunition. The weapons were not made to commercial standards, but they worked well enough to kill people. It is unlikely commercial firearms would have been able to breech the fortified door at the synagogue. The Guardian notes it is the fortification and security system that saved the 70 Jews inside.

One of the murderer's desires was to show the futility of gun control restrictions.

U.S. supporters of gun control see it differently.  From the newyorker.com:

It seems clear that if Balliet had been able to purchase weapons—if the scenario had happened in America—there would have been a massacre. (“God bless the Germans with their gun-control laws,” Waxman said.)

An attribute of true believers is the ability to twist any event to fit the narrative of their belief. Even though all the victims of the attack were unarmed, and unable to fight back, and while the murderer created his own weapons and ammunition in spite of the highly restrictive German gun control laws, their answer is gun control saved lives.

Gun control proponents are pushing for censorship to prevent people from having the information required to make guns.

Years ago after a Million Mom March one of our gun control spouting neighbors was pushing banning guns to a group of us that she knew owned guns. One of our other neighbor invited her down to his garage workshop to show her the futility of her movement. He built a shotgun right in front of her in less than 1 hour. He also told her to give him a day he’d build a submachine gun (actually fairly simple) and in a couple of days a semi auto handgun, and in about week he could build a full auto rifle… Read more »

We are all aware of the gun control in the UK. Back in the 1920s, 1930s. 1940s my Grandfather in Ulster was a machinist with a home shop. He was an Ulsterman of protestant B force. With the violence of the IRA rampant my grandfather manufactured firearms that would take UK military ammo. What he manufactured were, according to my mother, superior in quality to Brit firearms. Mom was his courier delivering notes to individuals where they could pick their orders up. Mom & I immigrated to the US in 1946 since she was a war bride of an Army… Read more »

Where there is a will there is a way. Until this nation as a whole returns to it’s Judeo/Christian roots things like this will continue to happen. You can’t legislate morality. All the laws in the world did not stop these terrorists from attempting their goal of mass murder. I was stationed in F.R.G. for two years and I can tell you they are VERY strict on firearms and ammo. Yet, we see another case of their asinine laws being subverted. Had that synagogue not been armored up there would surely have been a massacre. When I was a kid… Read more »

I suppose those of us with a different religion can agree with most of your comments?

@loveaduck,I would like to agree with what he’s talking about too. But I don’t have any idea what he’s talking about.

Yes, oddly enough, I am not religious, yet somehow lead a good moral life. Too bad, as we read about daily, the religious ones seem to always find ways around that Judeo/Christian morality bit. Just like violence, it’s not the firearms, nor religion, but the person. I will agree with him on one implied point, caring/concern about others (do unto others…) and tolerance, both taught in Christianity, are a good foundation for civil society. However Christianity isn’t the only religion that teaches those principles. And history shows us how tolerant various forms of Christianity actually were, hence the reason various… Read more »

The anti gunners will never be confused or swayed by FACTS. The dogma is all. Of course these “useful idiots” do not realize they will be at the front of the line for execution.

Or he could have built a crossbow with a bolt feeder, 2,000+ year old tech and it would have probably been more reliable and effective. Interestingly, just like the Aurora shooter, he never used his explosives.

If you want to see how high-tech reliable weapons can be made in small primitive blacksmith and tool shops, take a trip to Pakistan. Local shops make full auto rifles (AKs) and even RPGs and handguns that were (still are) supplied to the Mujahideen and Taliban fighters in Afghanistan. Just because this German individual lacked the skills to make reliable firearms himself, doesn’t mean it can’t be done at the same, or close to the same, quality as factory produced firearms.

@JPM you are correct, I’ve seen them, too, but I would not suggest that any western person go to Pakistan.
My neighbor, just two miles down the road, is 72, and has his own metal lathe and milling machine. He is a wizard with stock steel.

The Leftist agenda is to take away ALL your rights. First your right to defend yourself, so you and others cannot resist the remainder of their agenda. Simultaneously they impose censorship so you cannot obtain the knowledge of how to go about defending yourself, and then all your remaining rights go away immediately thereafter. No right to liberty, property, or even life itself.

The tree of liberty is getting mighty thirsty.

Yes, if they censor how the guns were made absolutely no one will be able to figure out 500 YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY. /s
