Virginia Gun Owners Should Overwhelm Richmond This Coming Monday

BELLEVUE, WA – -(AmmoLand.com)- The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is encouraging gun owners from across Virginia to gather Monday in Richmond as a show of opposition to the extremist gun control agenda put forth by Gov. Ralph Northam and his Democrat majority in the General Assembly.

Events begin at 8 a.m. with committee meetings starting at 9 o’clock. The rally on the Capitol Steps begins at 11 a.m. Speakers include Stephen Williford, the Texas hero who shot the Sutherland Springs church gunman two years ago; Dick Heller, Bearing Arms Editor Cam Edwards, Jan Morgan, founder of 2A Women, State Sen. Amanda Chase, Delegates nick Freitas and John McGuire, and many others.

CCRKBA also stresses the importance of being vigilant in the wake of rumored potential for confrontation with provocateurs who may show up in an attempt to create an incident to discredit law-abiding gun owners.

“With more than 100 counties, cities and smaller jurisdictions having declared themselves to be ‘Second Amendment Sanctuaries,’ we concur with our friends at the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) that the eyes of the nation, and maybe the world, will be on Richmond,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb.

Virginia gun owners have been gathering peacefully every year in Richmond to support their Second Amendment rights, and this year must be no different, CCRKBA said. A much larger-than-normal crowd is anticipated, so this will be a good opportunity for gun owners to meet like-minded fellow Virginians, and to deliver a unified message to the General Assembly about gun control proposals such as reviving the failed one-gun-per-month law and other extremist proposals.

Information about the rally, and about scheduled bus transportation from many locations around the state may be found here, at the VCDL website.

“We’re suspicious of Gov. Northam’s temporary ban on firearms in and around the State Capitol,” Gottlieb noted, “but we’ve been saying for a long time that Ralph Northam is a gun-banner, and now he’s proving it.”

Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear ArmsWith more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (www.ccrkba.org) is one of the nation's premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States.

As a Virginian, I don’t want another Charlottesville, and I appreciate the steps they are taking on capital grounds to make sure the capital is safe for everyone lobbying for all their causes this Monday. Charlottesville can happen in Charlottesville but it is NOT going to happen in Richmond, and pro-gun events should not disrupt the causes that other people will be lobbying for.

Um, a little late to the party, but you’re welcome to join. Thanks for “encouraging” everyone who decided long ago to attend.

The article is perfect; it’s a call to arms for those who had not yet decided to attend. God Bless You if you’re just getting the courage to raise your voice. To everyone reading the snarky comment from “Arizona“ please understand that this is exactly the type of underhanded BS you’re going to get from agitators pretending to support 2A. They’ll pull you in a little and pretend to be with you, then drag you into some BS confrontation hoping it will get physical and then get picked up by a camera and run in the nightly news for a… Read more »

LOL. So now I am an “agitator” huh? You must be a racist white supremacist nazi oathkeeper member of the Base, in that case.

This group is late to the party, which is what correctly I pointed out, yet I still welcomed their attendance.

You? You read a bunch of imagined issues into it, and acted like the mainstream media. Get a life, and grow the F up.

@AZ – Should have stuck to your second sentence. Short, sweet, and to the point.

Childish name calling and swearing in the other two sentences just make you look bad and obscure your rather valid point.
