AmmoLand News Cracks The Top 1000 Most Read U.S. Websites

U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)-According to Alexa (Amazon’s web analytics tracking site), AmmoLand Shooting Sports News has cracked the top 1000 most visited websites in the United States.

AmmoLand News launched on October 2nd, 2008 with a post featuring the Frank Loesser song “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition.” When the site began, it was called the Ammoland News and Business Directory. Since then, AmmoLand News has published over 70,000 articles covering a wide variety of topics from Second Amendment news to reviews of new products. The site boasts over 40 contributors that post content seven days a week. What separates AmmoLand News from other gun news websites is its original reporting, investigated journalism, and willingness to take on powerful anti-gun politicians.

Over the last decade, AmmoLand News has been at the center of multiple breaking news stories. Attorneys have used AmmoLand’s news articles in support of federal cases as well as numerous state lawsuits.

During the brief lifting on the California magazine ban, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra tried to argue that reinstating the ban wouldn’t hurt California gun owners. The plaintiffs cited an AmmoLand article as evidence that California residents had purchased thousands of 10+ round magazines, leading the courts to rule that the owners could keep their gun magazines.

News sources from around the country used AmmoLand’s FOIA request to report on New Jersey resident’s non-compliance when it came to the state’s controversial magazine ban. The website has grown from a project for a few gun-nuts to a full-fledged media organization and one of the biggest names in firearms reporting.

Breaking the top 1000 US websites is a rare feat for any company, much less a pro-gun news organization.

There are millions of websites vying for position, so to be in the top 1000 sites in the US puts AmmoLand in an elite company. Most other websites on the list are household names. It is almost unheard of for a firearms website to make the cut. AmmoLand ranks higher than sites such as NRA.org, the Washingtonexaminer.com or even media giant WIRED.com. The ranking shows a groundswell of gun owners seeking information and news about gun rights and information about different firearms that they cannot get or cannot trust from traditional media sources.

AmmoLand’s Editor and Chief, Fredy Riehl, sees AmmoLand as a platform to break through the anti-gun bias of other big media companies. He views the site as giving a voice to those of us who are passionate about sharing the truth about gun ownership that gets filtered out by other agenda-driven outlets.

“It has been over a decade of hard work from a lot of dedicated individuals all working to protect our right to keep and bear arms,” Riehl said. “Breaking through the 1000 top visited websites in the USA means that our message is resonating with the American public. Thank you very much to all the passionate readers of AmmoLand News for supporting us since 2008. And those who continue to help share our message past the shadow bans and biased filters.”

There are no signs that the site’s growth is slowing down. If anything, AmmoLand’s reach is growing every day. AmmoLand News will continue to expand its readership by bringing the latest hard-hitting news, reviews, and opinions to the gun world.

@TC, Duncan? I thought that it was only Freddy and Brian working the site out of their garage! Can you tell us about the expansion?

Hard work and persistence are certainly a part of this unheard of achievement, however, I prefer to believe it also has a lot to do with being pro-liberty in this age of the great awakening. Someday the massive amount of censorship on most other sites will cease, and then pro freedom and liberty will be S.O.P.
But we earlybirds will always know who started the trend!

Congrats to Fredy but also to a friend, behind the scenes, who’s volunteered his time, tirelessly, to clean up the raw copy of articles submitted. We bitch and complain sometimes but this one person spends his own time actually doing what he can, for free, to help with the finished product. He IS an unsung hero of Ammoland.

I hereby volunteer to proofread your headlines. I do it already anyway, but I’d rather have them not appear in the first place, than to make fun of errors like; buy this new “range bad”!
