First-Time Gun Buyers Explain How Coronavirus Changed Their Politics

Scott Kane went 38 years without ever touching a gun. That streak would have continued had it not been for the coronavirus. In March, fearful of the harassment his wife and child experienced over their Asian ancestry, Kane found himself in a California gun shop. His March 11 purchase of a 9mm would have been the end of the story, were it not for a political standoff over shutdown orders and background checks. Now Kane, a former supporter of gun-control measures and AR-15 bans, is frustrated by the arduous process that has denied his family a sense of security.

The pandemic has made the soft-spoken software engineer an unlikely Second Amendment supporter.

“This has taken me, a law-abiding citizen with nary an unpaid parking ticket to my name, over a month,” he told the Washington Free Beacon. “Meanwhile Joe Bad Guy has probably purchased several fully automatic AK-47s out of the back of an El Camino in a shady part of town with zero background checks.”

If he thinks getting his firearm was hard in California, wait till he needs ammo. He’s really going to be shocked at what he’s going to be put through. But hey, that’s what they voted for. Don’t cry now. He’d better hope we don’t get a Democrat president next election, or he’s really screwed.

This barely mentions FL.
The California Flag would be the more responsible for the article.

As horrible as Mr.Floyd’s murder was,he is going down a HERO figure for the 2A,millions of NEVER GUNNERS/Anti’s have finally found out WHO is responsible for their SAFETY.
We are on average headed for a minimum of 24 million NEW firearm sales for 2020, and we are just now half the way through.

All that story tells me is what a bunch of completely narcissistic people populate this country. Only until they were affected by something did they care. It’s all about them and buying a damned gun isnt going to change them. They will always be lazy narcissists. F-ing sad. I will ALWAYS see them as the reason we are in this state and nothing will change that. Well, having a shotgun is ok, having a revolver is ok, having a bolt action is ok but those ARs are still evil, that’s what they will say after the next FF involving school… Read more »

Where in that “shady part of town” is the El Camino parked? I’d like to get a full-auto AK-47, only to have it fall off my boat when I went fishing. 🙂

We keep pushing for Constitutional carry down here, but no luck so far. Should have been one of his first acts.

A whole herd of chickens have done come home to roost. Dont feel so good now, does it ? boo-hoo, goes the liberal. Sometimes the benefits of thinking, 1st of all, by not listening to the loony left. keeps bad laws from passing. Is it apathy, pessimism, that keeps good men from running for office ? The mind set that politics is a swamp, corrupt, helps who ? Who benefits from that kind of thinking. Good men dont want to get involved, and the swamp dwellers love it. Whos fault is it ? OURS. There is some(small) forgiveness for electing bad leaders.… Read more »

The direction the left is pushing things, very shortly, there will be no more background checks.
