First-Time Gun Buyers Explain How Coronavirus Changed Their Politics

Scott Kane went 38 years without ever touching a gun. That streak would have continued had it not been for the coronavirus. In March, fearful of the harassment his wife and child experienced over their Asian ancestry, Kane found himself in a California gun shop. His March 11 purchase of a 9mm would have been the end of the story, were it not for a political standoff over shutdown orders and background checks. Now Kane, a former supporter of gun-control measures and AR-15 bans, is frustrated by the arduous process that has denied his family a sense of security.

The pandemic has made the soft-spoken software engineer an unlikely Second Amendment supporter.

“This has taken me, a law-abiding citizen with nary an unpaid parking ticket to my name, over a month,” he told the Washington Free Beacon. “Meanwhile Joe Bad Guy has probably purchased several fully automatic AK-47s out of the back of an El Camino in a shady part of town with zero background checks.”

If he thinks getting his firearm was hard in California, wait till he needs ammo. He’s really going to be shocked at what he’s going to be put through. But hey, that’s what they voted for. Don’t cry now. He’d better hope we don’t get a Democrat president next election, or he’s really screwed.

As horrible as Mr.Floyd’s murder was,he is going down a HERO figure for the 2A,millions of NEVER GUNNERS/Anti’s have finally found out WHO is responsible for their SAFETY.
We are on average headed for a minimum of 24 million NEW firearm sales for 2020, and we are just now half the way through.

All that story tells me is what a bunch of completely narcissistic people populate this country. Only until they were affected by something did they care. It’s all about them and buying a damned gun isnt going to change them. They will always be lazy narcissists. F-ing sad. I will ALWAYS see them as the reason we are in this state and nothing will change that. Well, having a shotgun is ok, having a revolver is ok, having a bolt action is ok but those ARs are still evil, that’s what they will say after the next FF involving school… Read more »

@Bill, We, as a nation, have cultivated an ignorant, group think, no traditions, throw away, generation of vipers, society. We are victims of our own success.

OF it cold easily be (VERY likely to my thinking) that these peole have been duped by the false memes propagagated in the mainstraem press they feed upon, and until SOMETHING happened to make them take a deeper look, they bought it lock stock and shoelaces. Now they’ve been FORCED by circumstances to take a ddper look.. and changed their mind based on facts new to them. But this is good news… circumsntances are, for more and more, pulling back the curtain so those formerly duped can look inside the little booth and see the sick wizard pulling the strings… Read more »

How can guvnr change the number of rounds a revolver can have?

Either you are mistaken and it is NOT law (maybe her wet dream) or she is operating ourside of her constitutinal authority (which would not surprise me one bit, having watched her from up too close and too personal like for too long.

Where in that “shady part of town” is the El Camino parked? I’d like to get a full-auto AK-47, only to have it fall off my boat when I went fishing. 🙂

We keep pushing for Constitutional carry down here, but no luck so far. Should have been one of his first acts.

@wjd
Nikki fried is the problem, weed card and a permit too, I cant do that lie on a 4473 but she can and hold office.

Swany

I’m with ya. I’ve been saying this for months now that she has really shown her true colors. She is a menace and needs to be voted out ASAP.

A whole herd of chickens have done come home to roost. Dont feel so good now, does it ? boo-hoo, goes the liberal. Sometimes the benefits of thinking, 1st of all, by not listening to the loony left. keeps bad laws from passing. Is it apathy, pessimism, that keeps good men from running for office ? The mind set that politics is a swamp, corrupt, helps who ? Who benefits from that kind of thinking. Good men dont want to get involved, and the swamp dwellers love it. Whos fault is it ? OURS. There is some(small) forgiveness for electing bad leaders.… Read more »

The direction the left is pushing things, very shortly, there will be no more background checks.

This is how the Amendment guaranteeing the right to keep and bear arms was written: The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; a well armed and well regulated militia being the best security of a free country: but no person religiously scrupulous of bearing arms shall be compelled to render military service in person.[124] In a society the individual right to keep and bear arms to defend oneself and family is intimately and inextricably entwined with the collective duty to participate in the defense of a free state. Then again, who ever said… Read more »

Eh, I commented about the Florida flag before reading the rest of the comments.

Yes, I’ve been trying to figure out why the lead picture and caption have really nothing to do with the story.

This is hilarious considering they have the NRA to thank for those laws. #Infringement #AllArmsLawsAreUnconstitutional
