U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- The National Rifle Association is pleased to announce that former President Donald Trump will headline a star-studded cast of political heavyweights at the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) Leadership Forum on Friday, May 27, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

“It is truly an honor to have President Trump address NRA members for the sixth time at our 2022 NRA-ILA Leadership Forum in Houston,” said NRA Executive Vice President & CEO Wayne LaPierre. “President Trump delivered on his promises by appointing judges who respect and value the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and in doing so helped ensure the freedom of generations of Americans. NRA members are excited to hear him speak and thank him for his support for our right to keep and bear arms.”

Starting at 2 p.m. local time, Trump will be joined in a celebration of Second Amendment rights by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Sen. John Cornyn, Sen. Ted Cruz, Rep. Dan Crenshaw, North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.

“NRA members are thrilled that President Trump will be joining us at this year’s NRA-ILA Leadership Forum,” said Jason Ouimet, executive director of NRA-ILA. “President Trump has always stood tall for the constitutional freedoms in which his fellow NRA members believe. During COVID-19, President Trump declared firearms and ammunition retailers to be ‘critical infrastructure,’ prompting states to reopen gun stores that had been forcibly closed. President Trump recognizes the Second Amendment is about liberties that belong to all Americans, and knows that our right to self-defense is non-negotiable. Join us on May 27 in Houston, you won’t want to miss this celebration of American freedom!”

…wow…

NRA-ILA and DJT “protecting” our gun rights…
What could possibly go wrong there?

swmft

feal like we are on the titanic

Right! Time to rearrange the deck chairs!

PistolGrip44

Trump does NOT fully support 2A and wayne still needs to go.

nrringlee

Trump is NOT a constitutional conservative. He is enabling RINOs as does NRA-PAC. Not one dime more.

Tank

He’s a Zionist puppet chameleon posing himself as conservative.

His actions completely say opposite of his Janus of Rome’s words. He is metaphorically the personification of what “two faced” means.

When words & actions are divergent always look at the action as it’s the truth.

Red Flag laws, not. Peep about False Flags, Operation Warp Speed, Jared Kushner, Syria, Yemen, Budget, Pimp extraordinaire Jeffery Epstein et alia etc.

It quacks like a Duck, swims like a Duck, Flys like a Duck, walks like a Duck but apparently it’s a Pink Flamingo. Go figure …

Why don’t you go back to stormfront you schmuck.

Biden thinks he supports rights protected by the 2nd Amendment.

That means nothing.

Montana454Casull

DJT sold out gun owners when he did the fix NICS crap and the bumpstock ban . Trump is not the second amendment supporter he claims to be . He is in favor of red flag laws also . He is s sell out when it comes to our second amendment . Politicians on either side of the aisle can not be trusted as it’s a check and balance on thier tyrrany . Power and greed are more attractive to these idiots than thier oath to uphold the constitution .

KenW

Fix NICS was a legislative issue, POTUS does not have line-item veto power like some governors do. I just got a form letter from Senator “I support the Second Amendment but” Marco Rubio who was one of the culprits on that.

A whos whos list of who wants to be the next president in 2024 We all must remember that the only freedom we have is the freedom we create for ourselves. The speed limit is 70 mph every car is capable of 120 mph or more that is your freedom to choose. Pedal to the medal or follow the rules that are restricted by you local government. Be willing to pay the price if you are caught that is the ipso facto zone. Build a firearm from start to finish because you can and have both the tools and knowledge… Read more »

NRA endorsements are running contrary to Trump endorsements here in Idaho. RINO loving NRA once again selling out its members.

Russn8r

I suspect desperate NRA’s trading RINO endorsements for cash from big-$ RINO groups like Club For Growth, Koch, et ilk.

Sadly, can’t trust Trump’s endorsements either, e.g. Turkish gun-grabber & child-sex-change groomer Mehmet OZ.

you may be right I dont know any life members that are giving , most have joined second amendment foundation

The real question would Trump endorse Lieutenant Colonel West for EVP?

Trump’s sons have represented themselves as knowledgeable pro firearm rights people. If Trump’s only problem was that he was led astray by Wayne, Trump’s sons could have gotten him back on track. Trump’s lifelong antifirearm rights positions are his to own. They are not due to Wayne. He was in favor of more gun control long before he even announced he was running for president. Once he announced he was running for president, he used firearm rights as a campaign slogan to get more votes. After he was elected, he pushed for more gun control laws because he knew that… Read more »

JSNMGC

Do you think a possible explanation is that: Both of his sons spoke to him about being more supportive of firearm rights; Ivanka and Jared encouraged him to be less supportive of firearm rights; Trump was always in favor of more gun control laws (but he wasn’t passionate about it); Trump’s campaign had someone reading gun forums and Trump concluded that a large percentage of even the most fervent firearm rights people would continue to vote for him even if he signed into law more gun control laws and encouraged states to pass red flag laws; A large percentage of… Read more »

Why would it matter? Trump is not pro-2A. I would be very wary of anyone he endorses. The only upside I can see to it would be getting some of the MAGAs to also support West.

Waiting approval

The truth is out there Got any questions write or call Donald J Trump Vote your own conscious not who someone endorses Think for yourselves Trump was asked on Twitter his position on gun control to which he responded, “Big Second Amendment believer but background checks to weed out the sicko’s are fine.” Trump said “Unfortunately, as expected, bringing more government regulation into the situation has accomplished very little. The main ‘benefit’ has been to make it difficult for a law-abiding American to buy a gun. As study after study has proven, few criminals are stupid enough to try to… Read more »

In The America We Deserve, published in 2000, he wrote:

“I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I also support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun,”

john

Hi Trumps answers were political by all means stroking both sides of the issue.
If the president Trump or any president made a bold statement that went ”

I support all firearm owners I will abolish all anti gun legislation with a executive order adding every law abiding American should own a gun.

” Political suicide”

Wild Bill

Statutes can not be abolished by executive order.

swmft

tell that to biden

john

Bill have you paying attention to those in washington and the judges on the bench their rulings Bat shit crazy people doing as they please.

Those are Trump’s own words and thoughts not mine. We are living in a time of lawlessness nothing is off the table. The office of disinformation Please!!!

Wild Bill

Well, good news: each of the bat shit crazy judges that do as they please can be impeached and removed because they do not sit “for life.” They sit for a term of good behavior.

john

Judge Judy LOL

swmft

there are lots of power hungry ones that rule based on their feelings about the case, does not make it any more legal than shooting anyone who disagrees with you but the judges are harder to get rid of than the stink of a skunk

Wild Bill

Most humorous! But … better Judge Judy than Kagan or Sotomeier.

swmft

the phrase legislating from the bench ,and they have been that is what rowe was that is what the court has said there are things that were left to the states under the constitution you dont like it amend the constitution

JSNMGC

There is more than a little daylight between:

“I support the ban on assault weapons;” and

“I will abolish all anti gun legislation.”

Is it too much to ask for a Republican presidential candidate to state:

“We already have too many laws related to firearms. We should do a better job of arresting, convicting, and incarcerating (and not letting out early) violent criminals. There are other actions that should also be taken to reduce violent crime.”

yea a solar system would fit easily in the space

swmft

we need a president who is term limited that will weed through laws and say unconstitutional and have scotus agree on review kind of a house cleaning

john

We need the elected to uphold the laws we have, what we do not need is more lawyers aka Bobby loophole bending the law to fit a political partys needs

john

Tuff crowd

JSNMGC

Not really.

I bet a lot of people would be satisfied with:

“We already have too many laws related to firearms. We should do a better job of arresting, convicting, and incarcerating (and not letting out early) violent criminals. There are other actions that should also be taken to reduce violent crime.”

Is that so tough for a Republican presidential candidate to say and then stick to?

Trump begged the legislators to bring him one, big, beautiful gun control bill. He deserves criticism.

john

Peoples opinions change for the better or the worse depending on the train your riding . If you want to get things done in the swamp you will have to be as slippery as the vermin that are the deep state. Life is give and take I am not all knowing and have been known to be wrong more than once. The Washington cesspool is no place to take a quite swim in the dark of night without a lot friends and allies with a unsinkable boat. Trump was a good president in my view for the people, he just… Read more »

He supported more gun control laws before running for president. When running for president he said he was pro firearm rights. He supported more gun control laws while he was president (and, as he bragged, he took care of bump stocks all by himself). He has not announced that he has changed his mind, so it is reasonable to presume he supports more gun control laws as of today. Trump did some good things related to taxes, reducing regulations, international trade agreements, international climate change agreements, international nuclear proliferation agreements, avoiding new & unnecessary foreign adventures, border policy, right to… Read more »

Guns are big money no matter what side of the street you drive on. The politics of guns is nothing more than money the issue how much and for who. I never believed that politicians cared if a person was shot and killed or care about gang shootings if so the arrest and conviction rate would be greater.
Today murder a unimportant person home by diner. Look at Alec Baldwin still free as can be he said it was not his fault so time passes people forget

Bill

Super!

Beowulf

Let’s see if Trump questions the NRA on why they endorsed back stabbing RINO Kemp of Georgia.

john

Perdue or Kemp I would prefer neither Perdue is a clown car driver while Kemp does what’s good for Kemp. Trump would have endorsed Kemp if the election results and the outcome were corrected in his favor.

Russn8r

I’d have to hold my nose and take cuck Perdue, over Kemp the saboteur

Stag

Why would he question that? He, and the NRA, were in lock step when it came to enacting arms legislation. FixNICS and bumpstock ban were supported by the NRA and enacted by Trump.

Stag

Fudds of a feather…

OSR

Trump should distance himself from the thieves currently running the NRA.

BOOT WAYNE TO THE CURB AND INSTALL COL WEST…
WE NEED REAL ANSWERS TO THE LEFTS ATTEMPTS TO BAN GUNS AND SHUT DOWN GUN DEALERS AND DELETE THE BATF FROM EXISTENCE

2gats

DJT sold out gun owners when he DID NOTHING to support national reciprocity and when he constantly mentioned 2A but did absolutely nothing to advance it.

further, when he sat on his hands and DID NOTHING to recount the election as it was stolen right in front of us he F**ked every AMERICAN.

and to be pictured here with wayne……….it’s just an insult.

Dogma Factor

The truth is out there. The turtle Mitch McConnell is who killed national reciprocity after passing congress. Turtle killed it by burying in committee within the Senate and never allowed the committee to proceed on the bill. Mitch the turtle is the true villain not Trump in this instance as he never had a chance to see the bill. Also why aren’t mad at Brandon, the corrupt courts and the DNC machine that stole the election. What about Mike Pence’s lack of support when it counted? Your blaming the victim not the cause of the injustice. Also do you know… Read more »

It will be interesting to see if Cornyn and Crenshaw will be given a few minutes to pitch their perceived benefits of an authoritarian society. They could talk about red flag laws (who is subject to them and who is not) and then they could do a deep dive on the TAPS Act and the first steps to building threat assessment files on each American. The assessments could include a rating on how willing each person is to accept further loss of freedom. I wonder what percent of the people who vote for them are: Just clueless (“Cornyn is a… Read more »

Cornyn’s always been a bit of a backstabber and not as strong on RKBA as he would have us believe. He needs to retire already so his seat can go to someone worthy instead of possibly losing to a Democrat.

I actually think Cruz would make an excellent president, but he’s not likeable enough to get elected especially after throwing in with Trump so completely.

JSNMGC

Yes – Cornyn certainly didn’t “fight for our rights” on February 28, 2018:

https://www.c-span.org/video/?441884-1/president-trump-calls-comprehensive-gun-bill

Crenshaw is a totalitarian. The TAPS Act is something Mao and Stalin would support.

swmft

they make people stupid through the public education system so they dont know howto support or defend themselves then they make laws to help them pathetic

swmft

cruz is like most of the florida rinos he is for himself

TexDad

He’s pretty strong on constitutional issues. Like he actually believes in something. Pretty hard to believe for a politician, I know.

Wild Bill

Yeah, how do we get rid of that Cornyn bastard?

JSNMGC

Become a firearm rights activist. There are plenty of people in East Texas who have been working hard and are frustrated that people won’t join them. They will show you what to do.

Russn8r

“Most humorous!” But then he wouldn’t have time for his glowjob: paTROLL, snark, uplick & downvote 24/7/365.

swmft

jsnmgc is right on this but it may mean running for office or doing legwork for someone else getting rid of trash is hard stupid people vote for the name they recognise not any other thing, this is why many politicians will use a nick name they have never used in their life to get elected

Apparently your not able to discern what controlled opposition is or the concept & notion of a rigged system whereby both candidates are puppets for the same controllers. Seeing as this is not a new concept of fact it can only mean one of two things. Your not remotely a critical thinker or your a troll here still playing the same political polemics card over & over like Parrot who repeats the same sound bite or a Pavlovian Dog response to the same stimulus.
