Two Extreme Gun Prohibitionists Highlight Their Own Absurd Hypocrisy with April 19 Posts

Whose side would the gun-grabbers have been on? (William Barnes Wollen, “The Battle of Lexington.” National Army Museum/PD)

“On April 18th, 1775, Paul Revere rode through the night to warn local militias that the British were coming,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth posted on X.com. “Two hundred and fifty years later, we honor his bravery.”

“You and your boss are what he would be warning us about today,” perennial gun-grabber, professional victim, and Democrat civil war-starter David Hogg trolled back, setting off a firestorm of replies from people who probably couldn’t believe he’d actually had the gall to gaslight that blatantly.

“You’re the one who would be coming for the people’s powder and ball, Thomas Gage,” certified firearms instructor and author Ranjit Singh replied. “The police of the day were coming to enforce gun control, EXACTLY what you’ve made your life’s focus,” KeepAndBear.org echoed.

It might seem hard to outdo Hogg’s ridiculous cognitive dissonance, but one lawmaker has given him a run for his money, and an ostensible “Republican” one at that.

“250 years ago today, the shot heard around the world ignited a revolution—and with it, the American spirit,” Pennsylvania Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick memorialized. “ The brave Minutemen of Lexington and Concord stood in defiance of tyranny and gave life to the values we still fight for: liberty, unity, and the pursuit of happiness. Their courage lit the path to independence—and their legacy still lights the way.”

“We know whose side you’d have been on,” I replied, posting a link to a recent AmmoLand article about his new attempt to ban bump stocks, and including a graphic showing he had been endorsed by Giffords. (It’s not the first time his citizen disarmament fixation has been explored here. See “‘Bipartisan’ Gun Controller Fitzpatrick Shows Why Being “Republican’ is Not Enough” and “Gun Owners Voting for GOP Betrayers Only Encourage More of the Same.”)

The guy’s not as loud as Hogg, but at this point in their careers he’s more effective and thus more dangerous, being able to cast his vote in the House with  Democrats to keep Republican-backed pro-gun legislation from passing. Seeing as how other of Fitzpatrick’s many sought after infringements include banning firearms suitable for use by the people in resisting tyranny, and disarming young citizens recognized by United States Code to be members of the Militia, his commemorating Lexington and Concord seems the height of hypocrisy.

But wait, as they say in the infomercials, there’s more.

“It was my profound honor to deliver a very ‘personal’ message to Vladimir Putin today, from the front lines of the war near the Russian border, on behalf of our PA-1 community,” he said in a post the day before.  The only permissible details to share are that “the message was delivered on target.”

This isn’t offered as a referendum on taking sides in the conflict, but as a poster replying to Fitzpatrick’s political stunt correctly noted, “The US is NOT at war with Russia, so why are you – a sitting member of Congress – committing acts of aggression against Russia?!”

If this country is going to enter conflict, the Constitutional way is for Congress to consider the sentiments of those they represent and declare war, not for this jackass, who wants to disarm the people who comprise the Militia, to drag us into it.

If Democrats considered invoking the Logan Act against Gen. Mike Flynn for meeting with the Russian ambassador, and if Republicans are entertaining doing it against Sen. Chris Van Hollen for his “sudden trip to El Salvador to try to free deportee Kilmar Abrego Garcia,” it would be tough to argue that Fitzpatrick, acting in his capacity as a sitting congressman “deliver[ing] a very ‘personal’ message to Vladimir Putin” did not do so “with intent to influence the measures … in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States.”

Perhaps inquiries ought to be made of State and Justice, just to make sure.

Hogg is a paid puppet just like the others

If anyone needed further evidence the GOP is not pro gun, it’s the fact that Fitzpatrick and others like him, are allowed party endorsements.

Neither party is pro gun. If Republicans wanted to change that, and be pro gun, then they’re first start by terminating their party endorsements of goons like Fitzpatrick, and Cornyn, Rick Scott, and Lyndsey Graham, etc.

I won’t vote for an anti gunner… Regardless of party affiliation.

Oh, well, if supertwink Davie Hogg doesn’t approve, I must be against them. Except I’m not. Hogg needs to open a gay bar and quit politics. His attempts at manly anger and indignation look like a simpering temper tantrum.

Every time Hogg’s authoritarian collectivist progressive policies are tried, persecution, pogroms and political prisoners camps follow.

None if which would be possible without a previously disarmed populace.

Hogg is doing a great job of turning off DemocRAT voters, as far as Senator Giffords goes, does anyone remember when he showed a picture of himself with his new AR15, after voting to deprive we peons that right?
