North Carolina – What’s a spurned leftist to do when the lawfare fails? When Donald Trump is riding high on victories both international and domestic?
When identity politics is on the ropes, gender pronouns are all but dead, SCOTUS ends judge-shopping for nationwide injunctions, ICE is deporting the invaders intended to transform America (into chaos), and USAID is no longer funding The Resistance? When Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and her ilk insist that a “Nazi” and “fascist” administration presents an “existential threat to democracy?”
He starts shooting, of course. First, it was loner whack jobs like Ryan Wesley Routh trying to assassinate Trump. (We can’t be sure about Thomas Matthew Crooks’ motives because, oddly enough, we don’t seem to know much about them even one year later.)
Then the body count starts increasing:
- Luigi Mangione murders the CEO of UnitedHealthcare.
- Elias Rodriguez murders two Israeli embassy staffers outside a Jewish museum event in D.C.
- Mohamed Sabry Soliman tries to incinerate seven Jews with a flamethrower and Molotov cocktails, killing an 82-year-old woman. (Oops. I’m supposed to say “allegedly” for all of those.)
Our ‘Burgeoning Color Revolution’: Not Just For Lone Whackos Anymore
But those are all just “lone wolf” attacks, right?
Alas, not anymore. What Mike Shelby of Gray Zone Research and Forward Observer describes as our “burgeoning Color Revolution” is now expanding to include leftist group violence. Shelby defines a Color Revolution as “a type of irregular warfare that uses predominantly non-violent action to topple an existing government, usually through mass protests, demonstrations, civil disobedience, and public displays of mass political defiance.”
Ostensibly, “non-violent” protest was the point of “No Kings” nationwide riots, which did a fine job of rebuilding morale for neo-Marxists bent on hijacking American society. Arguably, it was also the point of attempts to stymy ICE detentions via bullhorn warnings into illegal aliens’ neighborhoods, and even the masked mob that accosted ICE agents outside a San Francisco immigration court.
Somewhat less “non-violent” was the rock-throwing, tear-gassed battle with ICE agents at Glass House Farms, the California marijuana farm where ICE agents discovered no fewer than nine “unaccompanied” illegal migrant children, demonstrating yet again that neo-Marxists are fine with child trafficking if it suits their ends.
As for the left’s “inside strategy,” Trump was spot-on in “DOGEing” thousands of deep state bureaucrats whose mass firing was just approved by SCOTUS. Shelby describes one group of leftists shorn of their means to foment socialism from inside government by saying: “Former U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and State Department employees are hosting recruitment and training sessions for current federal employees to resist the Trump administration from the inside, according to a report from nonprofit media outlet NOTUS.”
Viva la résistance!
‘Non-Violent’? Not So Much …
But as became evident over the July 4th weekend, when we witnessed three probably coordinated attacks on border patrol and ICE facilities, those “mostly peaceful protestors” of the quaint George Floyd riots have stepped up their game.
Two were ambush attacks: At the Prairieland Detention Center, 12 people dressed in tactical gear, including body armor, radios, and AR-style firearms drew out officers using fireworks and by spray painting cars with sobriquets like “ICE PIG!” and “F@ck you pigs!” and then fired 20-30 rounds at responding police, striking one in the neck.
A subsequent search of their vehicles found fliers that should make AOC and Bernie Sanders proud: “FIGHT ICE TERROR WITH CLASS WAR!” and “FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS!” A flag was found that read, “RESIST FASCISM – FIGHT OLIGARCHY.” One perp had burner phones in a Faraday bag to prevent being tracked.
One of them, Antifa member Benjamin Hamil Song, is still at-large and very much wanted by the FBI.
Next contestant was 27-year-old Michigan resident Ryan Louis Mosqueda who, dressed in tactical gear and armed with a rifle, fired dozens of rounds at federal agents at a U.S. Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas. It didn’t work out well for him, and he ended up what John Farnam of Defense Training International likes to call “DRT” as in “dead right there.” (Fortunately, at least for now, leftists can’t shoot worth a damn.)
And then we had the Portland mob, which, also on the weekend of the 4th, attacked the local ICE facility with fireworks … and “a large knife,” which one offender threw at police. (Somehow, I envision him screeching “You beast!” as he threw it.)
But hey, I’m sure it’s all just coincidence.
What The Attacks Have In Common
Hearing commentators tell Democrats to “tone down the violent rhetoric” becomes laughable when you understand that violence-inspiring rhetoric is exactly what is intended by radical Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez, Jasmine Crocket, and Zohran Mamdani, among others. (Also Chuck Schumer, of course, who panders to them in a desperate bid for relevance).
Shelby notes that revolutions rarely spring from the unwashed proletariat, but instead from intra-elite conflict. If Democrats can incite enough violence at ICE raids and beyond, they just might be able to neuter or even depose Donald Trump.
How is such a thing possible, you ask? In college, I took a fascinating course entitled “Revolt and Political Change” from a professor who looked like a cross between Che Guevara and the Frito Bandito. What he taught was that revolutionaries aspire to provoke ruling elites into over-reacting to their insurrections, thereby alienating the population and losing the popular mandate – something that looks a lot like National Guard and Marines accompanying ICE on paramilitary operations to nab illegal aliens.
Consequently, we have would-be president Gavin Newsom lying that “Trump tear-gasses children, rips them from their parents, and deports farm workers” after a marijuana farm raid that produced nine unaccompanied illegal migrant children likely being trafficked for child labor.

The more frenzy that radical Democrats can whip up, the more likely it becomes that they can do exactly what they accuse Donald Trump of: seize power, permanently. They, not Trump, represent the “existential threat to Democracy” which they project upon Trump.
Of the Fourth Estate media running interference for radical Democrats, Border Czar Tom Homan put it bluntly: “Ninety percent of the stories are just fake. They’re lies … They’re lying about what President Trump is doing. They’re lying about what the men and women of ICE are doing.”
The unemployed anarchists at Antifa (or “Freedom for Palestine,” or whatever false front cause they’re exploiting today); the misfit toys of transgenderism; and others among society’s rejects – all are just cannon fodder for radical Democrats who think of themselves as “the elite” and therefore entitled to power.
Hence, the occasional rape-murder by an illegal alien, tens of thousands of children trafficked, and 48,422 fentanyl deaths are acceptable tools in pursuit of the only thing a leftist truly wants: absolute power.
As an aside, Democrats should be careful what they wish for. Axios quoted an unidentified Democrat lawmaker as saying: “Some of them have suggested … what we really need to do is be willing to get shot … Our own base is telling us that what we’re doing is not good enough … [that] there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public.” Party supporters would do well to recall the Bernie Sanders staffer who, when secretly videoed by Project Veritas, promised that “Liberals get the f^cking wall first.”
So, while you are celebrating Trump’s makeover of America, they are fomenting revolution. Hopefully, the new, more serious Donald Trump will carefully avoid giving the left a cause célèbre. Because the alternative could be election whip-sawing the likes of which we have never before seen – a sea change that could place the left in permanent power.
As the debacle of 2020 through 2024 demonstrated so clearly, we are, at any given point, only – One. Election. Away. – from losing our freedom.

“We need to stop pretending the police can protect everyone at all times.” The message that the police are there to provide protection for us isn’t coming from the “Common Sense” Right. It’s coming from the political Left and proponents of big government (including the police themselves with “To Protect and To Serve” emblazoned on their squad cars) who use a lack of ‘Critical Thinking’ ability in the general public to their advantage in making their point. When it comes from the FBI about crime and criminals or “threats”, I’m skeptical. They didn’t get the name Federal Bureau Of Intimidation for nothing.
However, when their ballistics lab says the Sig P320 is prone to un-commanded discharges, that’s interesting.
