Charlotte, NC –-(Ammoland.com)- Late last night, the Missouri House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 75 by a 123 to 29 vote.
SB 75 seeks to reform Missouri’s existing concealed carry permit process. Currently, the Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR) is responsible for issuing concealed carry endorsements, but after recently betraying the trust of the people of Missouri, legislators have demanded the permitting process be transferred to county sheriffs. Sponsored by state Senator Dan Brown and state Representative Eric Burlison, SB 75 would make sheriffs the issuing authority for all concealed carry permits in the state of Missouri starting January 1, 2014.
In addition to this critical right to carry reform, SB 75 would also allow schools to annually teach the NRA Eddie Eagle Gunsafe® Program to help keep children safe.
This bill now returns to the Missouri Senate where a concurrence vote could happen TODAY. Please contact your state Senator IMMEDIATELY and respectfully urge him or her to vote to concur on Senate Bill 75. Contact information for your state Senator can be found here.
