Sponsors Enable Hate Column Equating San Bernardino Murder Victim with Terrorists

Will companies continue to enrich The New York Daily News with advertising revenues after its vile message of hate directed toward the gun-owning and religious conservative segments of their customer bases?

USA –  -(Ammoland.com)- Conservatives are taking the appropriately-named Linda Stasi of The New York Daily News to task, not just for speaking ill of the dead, but for equating a victim of the San Bernardino shootings with his Islamic terrorist murderers, and for purposely excluding him from those she referred to as “innocent victims.

“They were two hate-filled, bigoted municipal employees interacting in one department,” Stasi wrote in a screed that would have resulted in howls of outrage, demands for her and her editor’s firing, and automatic inclusion on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s ”Hate Watch” site had she been a conservative columnist speaking about a“progressive” victim.  “Now 13 innocent people are dead in unspeakable carnage.”

14 victims were slain. She purposely did not include Messianic Jew Nicholas Thalasinos among those to be mourned, because per Stasi, he “was an anti-government, anti-Islam, pro-NRA, rabidly anti-Planned Parenthood kinda guy, who posted that it would be ‘Freaking Awesome’ if hateful Ann Coulter was named head of Homeland Security.”

One gets the distinct impression Stasi is glad the man is dead.

This column is not going to link to hers, captured in the above screen shot. The New York Daily News is one of the loudest and most obnoxious voices demanding citizen disarmament and there’s a justified suspicion that much of what they post is intended solely as provocative click bait. The more traffic they get, the more they can charge advertisers. I don’t want this article to contribute to that, especially noting the paper’s declining circulation.

They’re desperate, which is why they’ll say and do anything, and why they need freak shows like the one Stasi puts on.

So their advertisers are, whether they intend to or not, giving aid, comfort and sustenance to these outright  enemies of gun owners and religious conservatives. As such, they ought to hear from that segment of their customers so they can determine if continuing to patronize The New York Daily News brings more headaches than it’s worth.

I'm asking as a longtime customer.
I’m asking as a longtime customer.

I had to turn my ad blocker off to see that for Stasi’s column, both Giant Eagle supermarkets (with a Target fuel perks deal) and True Value Hardware (selling Benjamin Moore Paints) were among the rotating advertisers helping to finance hatred aimed at what is no doubt a significant percentage of their respective customer bases. The question then becomes, do these companies agree that it’s in their corporate interests to fund the message that those with non-“progressive” ideological views deserve to be reviled after they’re brutally slain? Do grieving families need to be subjected to that?

It’s not just a corporate decision. I have a Giant Eagle card. My family shops there for groceries several times a week, and we redeem fuel perks at their GetGo gas stations. As a regular, longtime customer, I have several other options where I live, none of them inconvenient. As a home owner, I’m also a paint customer. And I have a Target card. I now need to consider whether it’s in my interests to instead give business to competitors who are not financing those who would disregard my loved ones and gloat if I were murdered.

I realize these companies never asked to be dragged into this, and all they want to do is advertise their products in high-traffic venues.

They’ve been put in this position solely due to one of their suppliers viciously attacking a significant segment of their customers who hold political views hated by “progressives.” Still, there’s no doubt what the corporate response would be were a “favored” group the target of such a vicious and callous hate campaign.

Will they continue to funnel customer dollars to The New York Daily News, enabling the paper to keep on spreading a message of hate? Perhaps they could be asked.

ot: somewhere in the library I have the memoirs of a former stasi agent, “wolf” was part of the name: I didn’t really get into it and read beyond the 1st chapter, but he was very proud of what he did, as an apparatchik of the State, was just doing his duty, proud of his ‘accomplishments’..

I wonder if “linda stasi” is a life member of the hate group called “cair”! “cair” is one of the many front groups in America that represents the “muslembrotherhood”. These organizations want to DESTROY America and to OVERTHROW our SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND called the Constitution of These United States of America. Looking at Public Law 414, it puts into law a reason to refuse muslems entry into America. Why? Because as stated above, their ORGANIZATION wants to conquer America.

David, your column is excellent, of course.

But it seems Pamella Geller beat you to it first:

“America’s Stasi: NYDN Applauds Jihad Slaughter in San Bernardino”
https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/12/06/americas-stasi-nydn-applauds-jihad-slaughter-in-san-bernardino/

Her column is excellent also. As is Robert Spencer’s.

Anyway, great reading all around!

Good article. Time for some boycotts!

It seems it’s ok to screw with some folks but not others. Talking bad about the South, white folks, the Klan, gun owners, pro-lifers, and Christians is just stating an opinion, but saying anything about black criminals, muslims, isis, damnyankees, government tit suckers, Planned Parenthood, and other undesirables makes one a prejudiced bigot. Perfect liberal “logic”. I call BS
