Washington, DC – -(Ammoland.com)- The National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) issued the following statements on President Obama’s latest gun control push.

In response to the President’s call for “smart gun” technology:

“President Obama’s obsession with gun control knows no boundaries,” said Jennifer Baker, director of NRA-ILA Public Affairs. “At a time when we are actively fighting terrorists at home and abroad, this administration would rather focus the military’s efforts on the president’s gun control agenda.”

In response to the proposed Social Security Administration (SSA) reporting rule:

“The president’s fixation on social security recipients is just another distraction from his failure to address the underlying issues of violent crime and suicide,” said Baker.

“As this president makes it harder for law-abiding citizens to exercise their individual right to self-defense, his own administration is releasing criminals convicted of gun crimes back onto the street and prosecuting 40 percent less firearm crimes than the previous administration.

President Obama’s focus on denying disability beneficiaries their fundamental Second Amendment rights while giving criminals a free pass is embarrassing and shameful.”

About:
Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the “lobbying” arm of the National Rifle Association of America. ILA is responsible for preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals in the legislative, political, and legal arenas, to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Will the World Famous JV POTUS BHO soon require CNC mills and lathes be ‘registered’ and require permits?

Will he confiscate reloading handbooks, metallurgy texts, etc that provide knowledge to build firearms?

His is indeed the World Famous JV POTUS.

Rick

Wild Bill said: “So, then, Rick, can you, please, explain to me what you mean by “D.C. v. Heller just proves that none of the justices (on the Supreme Court) are authorities on constitutional law.” And as to the NFA still being law, the NRA isn’t going to get that changed, nor is anyone else because the Federal government has us where it wants us. And I agree about the founders not nit picking.” Oh please. I know that you, I and others could interpret the Second Amendment far better than Scalia did. Hopefully some justices will come along, and… Read more »

The ONLY way that I will be disarmed is to pry it from my cold dead hands!!!

Clark Kent

‘They’ is actually ‘us’. ‘We have met the enemy and he is us’ – Pogo.

justtryit

Hey Rick, I think you need to go “poke” Hillary again; you obviously liked it too much the first time!

Rick

Non sequitur.

Well said Thom Paine!

Mike McAllister

The more liberal gun control BS he pushes the more law abiding Americans will push back.

Rick

The gun confiscatin’ demagogues are determined to totally disarm the people, and they’re only waiting for the right pretense to declare a ‘state of emergency’ to accomplish that fait accompli.

Thom Paine

Recently I read an article that elaborated exactly why our leftist enemies are ,”Pus☆sies”. Well my supposition is this . Yes for the most part they are and they expect others to do violence on their behalf. However in the fact that we have had more high crimes and misdemeanors, scandals and lies than are tolerable by a free people? The truth at this stage is that the establishment RINO wing of the Republican party are far bigger ,”Pus☆ies” ! And what of the Joint Chiefs of Staff ? How many “constitutional crisiss” does it take before the Oath kicks… Read more »

The new GOP President must go through the 06 and above ranks of the Military like a dose of salts, Thoroughly vetting Every Single One in those ranks and retiring ALL the “Obama” Generals. Then take a very good look at the 05 Bird Colonels as well, as many of them got their bird by “sucking” up to our little king.
This will mean a rapid rise of Warrior Officers in the 03 – 05 billets, but we have GOT to rid ourselves of the “political” officers in positions of authority.

Clark Kent

Except that HiLIARy will be the new POTUS. Start taking appropriate precautionary measures now.

Rick

I am particularly appalled by the NRA’s habitual appeasement with these gun confiscatin’ tyrants. If that worthless organization was even worth half its salt, we would still be purchasing Tommy guns off the shelves.

Wild Bill

Well, Rick, the NRA was behind the DC v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago Supreme Court Second Amendment civil Rights wins. There is nothing appeasing about those. Absent the NRA, you would not have any guns at all by now. Heller and McDonald are meaningful (and expensive) wins that no one person could do (or afford) in their own.
The NRA is not the problem. Our liberal, socialist, intolerant, powerful enemies are the problem.

Yancey

It’s the NRA’s fault we can’t purchase a Tommy gun off the shelf ? What ?

VonZorch

The NRA, or at least many of its board of directors were involved in writing the National Firearms act of 1934, as well as the GCA 1968 and every other piece of gun comtrol legislation until at least 1990.

Wild Bill

Even if true that was eighty-two years and forty-nine years ago, respectively. I think that the NRA has changed since then. The work that the NRA is doing, now, to preserve our Second Amendment civil Rights is probably more relevant.
Maybe the NRA made sure that the NFA and GCA weren’t more restrictive than they are.
I’d like to read about that have you got a source?

Rick

Oh I can believe it all right, and it just goes with what I was saying.

Wild Bill

Well Von, I’d like to read your source for your statements, before I make up my mind. Does that sound fair?

Rick

Excuse me, but the Thompson M-45 submachine gun is a firearm. Why don’t you ask the NRA why they failed to protect the American people’s right to purchase those firearms outright? Please don’t blame me for their incompetence.

Wild Bill

Even if what you wrote is true (maybe), it was so long ago that I doubt any of those NRA people are still alive to ask. Do you have a citation? No one wrote a word about blame for anything. And Yes, the Thompson is a firearm.

Rick

Well, the year is now 2016. Why are the Thompson M-45 submachine guns still off the hardware stores’ shelves? What’s the NRA’s excuse this time? After all, that organization had 82 years to get it right.

By the way, the framers of the Second Amendment didn’t nitpick as to the types of firearms, or who could acquire them.

Scott V

The NRA was not involved very much in politics until the 1970’s. The original goal of the NRA was “improvement in marksmanship of its members” mainly training and competitions.

Wild Bill

Rick, I did less than the NRA to protect your Second Amendment civil Rights. Maybe it is my fault! I didn’t take DC v. Heller through the entire Fed. Court system. But the NRA did. I didn’t shoulder the cost of taking McDonald v Chicago up through the Fed. Courts. But the NRA did. I didn’t make all those really effective TV commercials. But the NRA did. Heller and McDonald are both huge and meaningful wins that have a direct impact on your Second Amendment civil Rights. I did nothing. But the NRA did. If your post is an attempt… Read more »

Rick

D.C. vs Heller just proves that none of the justices are authorities on constitutional law.

Wild Bill

Well, Rick, … oh that is a joke… right! You had me going!

Rick

It’s no joke. If it was, the tyrant in the White House wouldn’t be conspiring to disarm the American people.

Wild Bill

So, then, Rick, can you, please, explain to me what you mean by “D.C. v. Heller just proves that none of the justices (on the Supreme Court) are authorities on constitutional law.” And as to the NFA still being law, the NRA isn’t going to get that changed, nor is anyone else because the Federal government has us where it wants us. And I agree about the founders not nit picking.

Not So Smart After All: Turns Out ‘Smart Guns’ Can Be Hacked – By their computerized nature, any computerized “smart” gun can be rendered inoperable just as the TrackingPoint was in this test, and some smart guns are rumored to have been designed from the ground up to be rendered inoperable with the push of a button by either the manufacturer, or by government itself.

This is a charlatan king, elected by entitlement babies, who doesn’t know the difference between a brake and a beaver tail. We all know what he has planned for the 350 million firearms in the hands of peaceable, lawful citizens. He’s obsessed. It’s his primary fetish. And he wants you to ignore the fact that crime rates are at record lows, half the murders in this nation, 5,639 of ’em, are committed by illegal aliens and a hundred million firearms have been purchased during his two terms. We’re still a pretty strong nation and personally owned firearms are part of… Read more »

It is all about disarming the American people so Obama’s private imported armies can go unimpeded across our country slaughtering their way into his Muslim Brotherhood Caliphate.

Shane

100% agree with you man the are trying to disarm everyonein the U.S. to make us vulnerable to all other countries. If these bills do pass through for to try to take our guns away from us our 2nd Amendment rights there will be a civil war with everybody. What they’re trying to do is unconstitutional and to me 100% against the law everybody should be able to own their own weapon it is these stupid drug dealers that go around killing people for no reason at all just so that way they can make money these are the people… Read more »
