Keep Your Powder Dry – Democrats Doubled Down on Gun Confiscation

USA –  -(Ammoland.com)-  So, here are three quotes. Care to guess where they come from?

  • “We’re here to tell the NRA their nightmare is ”
  • “We’re going to hammer guns on the anvil of relentless legislative strategy! We’re going to beat guns into submission!”
  • “If I had my way sporting guns would be strictly regulated, the rest would be ”

The top two come from the new Senate Minority Leader (Chuck Schumer) the last one the minority leader in the House (Nancy Pelosi).

Had the election gone the other way they would be Majority leader and House speaker with Hillary Clinton as President.  (And some of you people think the NRA overreacts when they said this election mattered!)

The Democrat Party is NOT listening to the people; they are ignoring the Pew Study that showed 77 percent of the people who voted in the last election support the NRA.

They’re back to their New York /San Francisco echo chamber where they ignore the rest of the country. Even POLITICO says that Schumer is a tool for the anti-gun movement.

With gun ownership exceeding 100,000,000 people and the fasted growing groups of new gun owners being women and minorities. You would think the Democrat Party would drop by 5 yards and punt on this issue.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

What the Democrats’ Get WRONG!

Unlike the NAACP, GLAD, Planned Parenthood or LA RAZA the NRA is not a partisan political organization.  It supports all politicians who support the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution, Democrats, Independents and even Republicans.

Those top four partisan political groups supply support almost exclusively to Democrat candidates. (Opensecrets.org)

Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton
Chuck Schumer cuddles with liar and loser Hillary Clinton.

As the Democrats’ moved to the left, they left the NRA behind.  McGovern, Humphry, Kennedy all had the backing of the NRA. Until the likes of Schumer and Pelosi got into politics guns were a non-issue.

Anything the left can turn into a wedge between people and issues, they will use.  How many of you even knew Nixon wanted to ban handguns?

The fact is most anti gun liberals don’t get this.

Gun owners don’t care what Chuck Schumer has registered as; we do care that he wants to ban and confiscate guns.  We care that in the past 30+ years he has never wavered from his anti-gun position.

The anti-gun left sees the NRA not as a group of patriots who care about their rights but as a GOP version of GLAD.

A group that will sell out their core beliefs to support the Democrats.  Nothing could be further from the truth when you discuss the NRA.

So, gun owners, friends, fellow shooters.  Here they come again.

After a two-year campaign with Hillary Clinton calling for gun buybacks and confiscation the same old tired lies are back with Pelosi and Schumer at the helm.

This time we’re ready!

Consider 120 million people voted; that’s 77 percent from PEW represents 92 million voters who support the NRA.

Compare that to the count of 100,000,000 gun owners, and we got a hell of a turnout.

The networks built on Facebook and other systems must be kept alive and strengthened. Take an anti-gunner or new person shooting. Bring them over to our side.

Outreach to groups like the LBGT community. There is a growing pro-gun segment there, nourish it.

Renew your NRA membership or upgrade to life members. Lastly, read Ammoland and keep informed.

IN the year 2020, would anybody still support a total ban on private firearms?

Wild Bill

@jvj, Every tyrant from Sargon I to Barry Soetoro would ban the private ownership of weapons. And the tyrant want to be of 2020 will, as well.

Jack Flash

I am leaving NJ after 30 years simply because I cannot have concealed carry in this State. I will be moving to a red state soon. I personally recommend that people who are concerned about protecting their loved ones from ideological maggots and illegal immigrants, and low life American thieves, rapists, and murderers to move out of NY, CT, NJ, CA, and all other communist controlled states.

L.T.D.(lazy TRUCK DRIVER)

Who would Pelosi send to confiscate firearms? I do believe if she had her way she would be starting the 2nd Civil War. This woman is bat shit crazy.

Dbltap2x

Janek, the only rational thought that I ever seen Pelosi exhibit, was her seeming rebuff to Harry Reid’s amorus advances on her.

Grady

Many Democrats like myself are pro 2nd amendment,

Wild bill

@Grady, We welcome you with open arms. The Democrat party no longer sees things your way. The Democrat party sees you as a useful idiot to get their socialist way. We, the family of responsible gun ownership, see you as an equal. Leave that oversimplified party theory behind, come with us and we will pick the candidates that will serve us on an individual basis.

DAN III

Wild Bill,

The Republicans are not much better than Democrats.

Wild Bill

@Dan, Yes, it is so. Neither are worth a spit. They think that they do not need us now that the vote is over (politics as usual), but we have a weapon. I Call it NO SECOND AMENDMENT, NO SECOND TERM.

Mick

Any politico that wants to confiscate firearms should be required to do it personally….lets see if the can walk the talk !

2War Abn Vet

These Dems aren’t being foolish. they know that an armed populace is a danger to totalitarian government, and they will continue their efforts.

Frank Clarke

In the united States, 100 million gun owners own 350 million guns and 200 billion rounds of ammunition. When a politician speaks of banning all guns, they are preaching to their base who wish to hear such things, but everyone knows it’s a pipe dream. Who’s going to do the disarming? The army WON’T do it (and legally they can’t). The police fall into two rough categories: those who think the people SHOULD have arms for their defense, and those who wish to stay alive. Neither of them will want to be your official disarmers. Who’s left?

michae Davidson

Exactly

DAN III

Frank, Please do not argue “it’s not legal so they won’t.” The Rule of Law is dead. Witness soetoro-obama who does not meet Constitutional requirements of Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5. He IS NOT a natural born citizen but was elected and sworn as POTUS….illegally. Witness Hillary Rodham Klinton and the entire Klinton crime family getting away with so many laws they’re most likely the envy of mobsters everywhere. Yes, there are millions of guns in citizen’s possession. But, how many are willing to sacrifice themselves and stand on Lexington Green ? History says 3 percent. Commitment. That is… Read more »

Wild Bill

@Rebel VA, The bureaucracy will do the disarming. The tool that the bureaucrats will use will be business attrition. No gun stores, no gun shows, no gunsmiths, no factory ammunition, no powder, no components, and no armed population to worry about.

Tionico

it will take twenty years or more for that attrition to result in anything resembling a disarmed populace. That does not account for more being smuggled in. Read of Australia’s recent huge influx of foreign made military and military style tactical weapons, long guns and handguns. They have no idea how they are coming in, but they are… in massive numbers. And we all know that NO ONE has guns in Australia….. right? Nor are there any “controlled substances” here in the US… right? The Free Market will take care of the need. The supply is there, its a simple… Read more »

We really need to find a way to get these dinosaurs out of public life. They are not serving the public. They are hindering the rights of law abiding citizens.

Infidel7.62

Pelosi and Schumer as as obsolete as halberds.

DAN III

For the sake of argument, let’s say Schumer/Feinstein/Pelosi/Durban DO manage to eradicate the protections the 2d Amendment purports to insure. You wake up one morning to reports that any pdroperty with a trigger you possess, is now illegal and must be turned in to the “authorities”. What are you prepared to do ? Will you whine and post your dismay via the comments at Ammoland ? Or will you decide that such tyranny will not stand ? You say goodbye to your family, your job, to the life you once had ? Will you stand your ground as those at… Read more »

What would happen if a million plus gun owners refused to submit and reacted with astounding enthusiasm?

Wild Bill

@C4, if a million or even 100 million gun owners refused to submit, then the bureaucracy would use its banal methods to strangle off the supplies of guns, ammunition, and ammunition components. No sweat and no blood. That is why we must pressure Donald Trump, and Congress to repeal the Gun Control Act and the National Firearms Act, right now! They owe us their seats. All the politicians think that they do not need us now that the vote is over. We need to convince them that they do need us. Our weapon: No Second Amendment, No Second Term!

Tionico

A hundred million gun owners, but we collectively own well above four hundred million guns. Once gummit begin sending goons round to take them up, as a few of the 100Mn owners are taken out for refusal to comply (most likely after taking out several times their own number) more non-gun owners will wake up… and realise what is at stake is more than whether each one has a smallish bit of steel/plastic/wood that spits small round things out one end. So some of the three hundred pus million “extra” smallish bits of steel/plastic/wood will find new hands to wield… Read more »

At first, there will be some who TOT their guns to The Government but, when American citizens see other Amrican citizens resisting and getting massacred , the anger will grow as will organization…by house,by street,by neighborhood,by town, etc etc…….then, I wouldn’t want to be a “gun collector”

Tionico

yeah, a hundred plus million and growing Gun Collectors” would have the upper hand.

One other consideration: the gummint collectors will lay down their badges and government issued costumes when the paychecks run out, or when they realise the radically reduced life expectancy concerning those who do what they do. Further, none of them will be operating on their home fields… but ALL their intended victims WILL be. That was one of the big advantages the Colonials had when fourteen thousand of them took the field to go up against the Regulars, ALL of whom were foreign import hirelings.

Kim

I WILL TERMINATE ANYONE TRYING TO TAKE MY WEAPONS FROM ME. JUST WHAT IDIOT IS GOING TO COME TO ANY GUN OWNERS DOOR, AND KNOW HE IS GOING TO GET BULLETS FLUNG AT HIM, OR THEM, AND IF THEY HAVE NEIGHBORS, THEY ARE GOING TO JOIN IN!!??!?!?! WHEN THEY THINK THAT THEY CAN SUBVERT OUR CONSTITUTION, THEN THERE ARE NO HOLDS TO BE HAD.WE MUST ELIMINATE THOSE WHO TRY TO CONFISCATE, AND DO THAT WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE. I TELL YOU, IT IS COMING, AND IT WILL NOT LAST LONG. THOSE WHO TRY, WILL NEVER SEE IT LIVE TO FRUITION, BECAUSE… Read more »

What the knotheads on the left do not realize is that all compliance is voluntary. The mere fact that some legislature passes a law doesn’t mean everyone will automatically comply. They can mandate registration of existing guns if they wish. It didn’t work in Connecticut and it won’t work nation wide. They can mandate confiscation but I doubt even all the people who would be detailed to effect the confiscation would do so. Doubtless some would – cheerfully – go out and confiscate weapons. And some nincompoops would doubtless voluntarily allow them to do so. But – many perhaps –… Read more »

The Dude

They wouldn’t be the leaders unless they won both houses.

Wild Bill

@Dude, They still are not leaders. They are our employees!

Janek

Maybe all the Botox (TM) has affected Pelosi’s rational thought processes?

Hahaha

Has she ever had a rational thought process? I have heard some of the most dumb, ignorant, nonexistence come out of her mouth…

Tionico

isn’t she the one that invented the “shoulder thing that goes up”? Or was that one of her interchangeable counterparts elsewhere in politics?

Windy Wilson

That was Diane Feinstein.

Not one to whine

Mrs. Pelosi is a radical, inbred disease. She has no grasp of reality and, like her loser friend Hillary, cannot distinguish the difference between truth and fiction. They are blinded by greed and lies.

Wild Bill

Pelosi is dangerous because she, somehow, brings into the Democrat party a lot of money. So they have to give her power within the Democrat party… and they think like she does. Pelosi, and her Democrat party are doing so swell that I think we should not disturb their dreaming. We should, however, be putting a hell of a lot of pressure on Donald Trump (the House and the Senate, who all owe us their seats) to repeal the National Firearms Act and the Gun Control Act, while we have the power. No SECOND AMENDMENT… NO SECOND TERM.

JJ

Maybe they’ll move away from this issue by the next presidential election in 2020.

Thom Paine

Heck with that that isn’t moving far enough away for me . I’d prefer they move to Canada .

Dano

What do you have against Canada ?

Tionico

Cuba, Venezuela, or North KOrea would be better suited to their feelings on guns in the hands of civilians. Maybe even France or Germany… both of which also insist on a disarmed citizenry, and have ever since before Hitler rose to power.

Clark Kent

Don’t bet on it.
