Glock’s Sevigny Wins 5th Major Shooting Title at USPSA Regional Championships

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Washington – Dave Sevigny, an employee of Smyrna-based gun maker Glock and captain of the company’s shooting team, picked up his fifth major title of the season by winning the Production division at the United States Practical Shooting Association’s Area 2 Regional Championships.

Competing with a Glock model 34 in 9mm, Sevigny dominated the field by winning eight of the 11 stages and leading the match from the start. He finished with a final score of 1467.2847 match points, outpacing second place shooter, Nils Jonasson of Mesa, Ariz., by over 144 points.

Brad Holt of Kingsburg, Calif. and winner of the Area 1 championship finished third shooting 1282.8165. Area 6 champion Mike Hughes of Bellingham, Wash., placed fourth with 1250.8999 and Kyle Schmidt of Gilbert, Ariz., took fifth with 1227.1986.

“Dave just keeps racking up title wins and is one of the most formidable competitors in the shooting sports as this latest win, his fifth major victory of the year, proves,” said Chris Endersby, USPSA’s Area 2 Director.

The USPSA Area 2 Championships were held at the Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club in Mesa, Ariz. November 6-9. A total of 355 top pistol shooters competed in USPSA’s Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production, Revolver and Single Stack divisions. The USPSA Area 2 region includes Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii and New Mexico but shooters from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Washington as well as Canada, England, Jamaica and Norway attended.
