NRA Youth Ambassadors to Convene at 2009 Shot Show.
FAIRFAX, VA – -(AmmoLand.com)- The National Rifle Association’s National Shooting Sports
NRA Youth Ambassador Program
Youth Ambassador Program is in its inaugural year and is pleased to welcome Ambassadors from the following programs: Boy Scouts of America; Royal Rangers; and the National High School Rodeo Association.
Formerly referred to as the Youth Advisory Board, the National Shooting Sports Youth Ambassador Program offers participants a wide array of benefits, ranging from scholarships and travel opportunities to an introduction to national shooting sports celebrities.
“We all benefit from the Ambassadors’ input and their perspective,” Youth Programs Manager Larry Quandahl said. “Not only does the Youth Ambassador program encourage growth of our sport, but it encourages increased industry support of youth shooting.”
The newly appointed Youth Ambassadors’ first task is representing the program at the 2009 Shot Show, an annual industry show featuring a broad array of firearms and displays. The program hopes to expand beyond the original four organizations in the years to come.
“We’re putting a youthful face on Youth Shooting Programs,” Youth Programs Coordinator Chip Lohman said. “The Ambassadors open doors for better communications between us and other programs while showcasing the benefits of an NRA Youth Program partnership. Almost any youth program can be supported by the NRA!”
