Kennesaw, Georgia –-( Georgia Republican Representative Rich Golick of Smyrna was recently quoted as saying:

“It may be the fact that we may hold off addressing gun laws this session.”

You see, Rep. Golick is the gatekeeper. As Chairman of the Judiciary/Non-Civil Committee in the House, he decides which, if any gun bills come through his Committee.

And, so far, Rep. Golick is stonewalling you and me from restoring our gun rights here in the State of Georgia.

In the first week of this session, Rep. Golick held a hearing on “hijacked grocery buggies.” But Rep. Golick has yet to have any hearings on gun legislation.

That’s bad news. The good news is, Rep. Golick is on record…in his own words. Last September, Georgia Gun Owners conducted our 2010 Candidate Survey Program.

A series of 11 gun-related questions was asked of each individual running for elected office. Rep. Golick responded.

Here is an example of one question that was asked, and Rep. Golick’s response:

4. Georgia law bans so-called “Church Carry” throughout the state. If elected, will you cosponsor and seek a roll-call vote on legislation that would repeal the ban on “Church Carry” in the State of Georgia?

Rep. Golick: “Will support, but I do recognize the right of a private property owner to determine what occurs on their property.”

I think we, as gun owners, agree with Rep. Golick’s hand-written words on the survey. But why is he stonewalling us now?

Why does he want to “hold off” on the restoration of our rights?

If you get a chance today, I encourage you to call Rep. Golick: 404-656-5943

Ask him why he is stonewalling hearings on the restoration of our gun rights. Demand that he not “hold off” this session. You and I play a vital role in the restoration of our liberties here in Georgia and in this country.

You are the tireless activist. You are needed now more than ever. You must drive the debate. You must pressure your elected officials if our liberties are to be restored.

If you and I don’t push for better policy…the “hijacked grocery buggie” bills will get top priority.

There are a slew of gun bills in both the House and the Senate. Rep. Golick is doing a disservice to gun owners, and to liberty, if he is going “hold off” on the restoration of our liberty.

Please call Rep. Golick — at once: 404-656-5943.
