Reno/Sparks, NV –-(Ammoland.com)- World class engravers and gunmakers are back in Reno in January to hold the Engraving Arts & Firearms Exhibition. The Firearms Engravers Guild of America (FEGA) will hold its annual convention and display of members’ art at John Ascuaga’s Nugget Hotel on January 25, 26 and 27.

“This is absolutely the best opportunity in 2013 to see the finest in engraved guns and other engraved work,” noted Barry Lee Hands, president of the Firearms Engravers Guild of America. “Our event is ‘The Largest Gathering of Hand Engravers in the World.’ The members include many of the finest engravers in America and around the globe.”

The display of work by individual engravers and gunmaker artisans, along with scrimshanders and metalworkers will be open to the public January 25-26-27. The cost to attend the Engraving Arts & Firearms Exhibition is only $20 per day. Hours are 12 pm to 7 pm on Friday, 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

“We also offer seminars on Monday open to anyone interested to encourage new artisans and share information between experts,” added Hands. Topics for the Monday seminars include tips, and tools for metal engravers and how to begin scrimshanding.

Barry Lee Hands, a well known firearm and knife engraver who has also traveled to observe British, Italian and Asian engravers at work, further explained, “This exhibition is a friendly, intimate environment. You’ll be able to personally meet and visit with engravers, see examples of their work and discuss a project, or purchase examples directly from the Artists” Exhibition dates are concurrent with the Safari Club International held at the Reno Convention Center and allow people to attend both events.

Hotel rooms can be booked at John Ascuaga’s Nugget at (800) 648-1177 and ask for Group code GFEGA13 or online at the organization’s website https://fega.com/about/conventionb.asp.

Ticket for the Saturday evening dinner and auction can be reserved online https://fega.com/about/banquet.asp or by contacting [email protected] or calling (616) 929-6146. Admission to the event can be paid at the door.
