Wisconsin –-(Ammoland.com)- Greetings in Freedom:

Last week Wisconsin Carry sent out information about a legislative push to allow CCL holders the ability to carry on school grounds.

The Federal “gun free school zone” law already has an exemption for concealed carry license holders. Wisconsin need only adopt that exemption into our state “gun free school zone” law.

The following graphic demonstrates how simple of a “fix” this would be to make.

Please COPY the above link and share it with interested friends and fellow 2nd Amendment supporters via social media and email. Post it to your facebook wall, tweet it out on Twitter. The graphic shows how easy it would be to fix Wisconsin’s law.

****IMPORTANT UPDATE****

Wisconsin Carry has learned that once again, legislators in Madison are MORE concerned with granting special privileges to off-duty and former police officers than they are protecting law-abiding CCL holders from potential felony charges for an innocent mistake.

We have learned that Rep. Joel Kleefisch is AGAIN going to introduce legislation to allow off-duty and former police officers the right to carry on school grounds.

You should be aware that many school districts in Wisconsin have ALREADY entered into special agreements with their local police departments to ALLOW off-duty police officers the right to carry on school grounds while your right to carry on those same grounds is denied.

In spite of the special privileges off-duty officers are already being granted, its even more shameful that Madison legislators like Joel Kleefisch are so enthusiastic about authoring legislation to grant even more special privileges to off-duty and former police while “we the people” are left out in the cold.

While there are no media reports about off-duty police being arrested or charged for accidentally carrying on school grounds, there are several instances where law-abiding folks are being ensnared by this oversight in Wisconsin law.

Call or email Joel Kleefisch:

Telephone:
(608) 266-8551
(888) 534-0038

Tell Joel that ANY law granting special privileges for off-duty and former police should come AFTER law-abiding citizens of Wisconsin have their right to carry on school grounds restored.

Please also call your state Senator and Representative and tell them NO special privileges for police until “we the people” have our right to carry, while we are on the school grounds our taxes support, restored.

Lastly, if you have a few more minutes for freedom, legislation will go nowhere in the Wisconsin Assembly without the blessing of leadership. PLEASE contact Robin Vos, Speaker of the Assembly by email or phone and ask him to prove his support of the 2nd Amendment and right to carry in Wisconsin by allowing legislation to fix Wisconsin’s gun-free-school-zone law to move forward.

About:
Wisconsin Carry, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation and reclamation of the rights of law-abiding Wisconsin residents to carry in the manner of their choosing. We believe that “open carry” and “concealed carry” are choices to be made by law-abiding citizens based on their situation and preference. Wisconsin Carry, like many gun-rights organizations in Wisconsin, is investing a great deal of resources to get Wisconsin law changed to allow concealed carry this next legislative session by proposing Constitutional Carry. Wisconsin Carry, Inc. will continue to use legal recourse to deter unlawful treatment of law-abiding Wisconsin residents who currently exercise their right to open carry, and soon will exercise their right to concealed carry in Wisconsin.
