Milner, GA -(AmmoLand.com)- The Firminator is by far the most versatile device for planting food plots ever created for landowners and hunters.
A significant advantage of the Firminator is technology and features that allow for small food plot seeds to be planted effectively. Small seeds like clover, brassicas and chicory are some of the most popular food plot plantings, yet often they are planted poorly, with poor results, usually because the operator doesn’t have the proper equipment.
Small seeds can’t be planted too deeply or the plant will never have the chance to emerge. Yet, without good seed-to-soil contact, the seed will not germinate. Another issue with small seeds is spreading the right amount of seed without waste or ineffective coverage.
The Accu-Seed System of the Firminator handles seeds of all sizes, from tiny clovers up to corn, soybeans, peas, and sunflowers. An indicator on the handle shows the seed size selections in 1/16-inch graduations. Simply set the size for the seed in the hopper, and the metering system will dispense the seed at the accepted rate. Because the system is ground driven, the seed is metered out relative to the speed you are traveling. When the Firminator stops rolling, the seeds stop falling. No more waste of expensive seed.
In addition to the Accu-Seed System, the Firminator is perfect for effective planting of small seed because of a built-in cultipacker. The Firminator comes standard with a 9-inch diameter cultipacker wheels, and it is now available with a 16-inch diameter upgrade. The new 16-inch cultipacker upgrade is great for use on sandy or extremely loose soils. The large diameter will prevent soil from flowing up and over the wheels. The larger wheels will effectively overtake and cultipack the sandiest and flour-like silty soils.
The cultipacker is a very important component for proper food plot installation. The heavy, notched, cast-iron cultipacker wheels are proven to eliminate air space, pulverize clods and level the soil while providing a beautifully prepared, firm seed bed. This is essential for achieving high germination rates. Small seeds should be applied on top of a culti packed seed bed to provide great soil contact. The Firminator got its name from the resulting seed bed that it produces. Each unit is also equipped with a series of cultipacker scrapers to keep the assembly clean and rolling in even less than ideal conditions.
The Firminator allows for aggressive angles on a site to be planted for the first time, or if a minimal till is needed, angles and pitch can be adjusted to just slightly cut through top litter. And small seeds are never an issue when planting food plots with the Firminator. Get perfect seed coverage and perfect soil contact with the Firminator.
