Washington DC (August 3, 2015) – The Outdoor Foundation, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and growing future generations of outdoor leaders, today announced that The SportsOneSource Group, the leading Internet portal for the active lifestyle industry, has signed on as a Platinum Sponsor of the 2015 Outsiders Ball.

The goal of the Outsiders Ball is to engage the entire outdoor industry in its most critical issue — getting young people outside and active. The funding raised through the Ball will go to support campus and community projects across the country, many supported by specialty retailers. The goal of the Outsider’s Ball is to help combat the inactivity crisis prevalent among youth and young adults in America. The statistics are staggering. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, the average young person today spends eight hours in front of a screen and only eight minutes outside and active.
Over the last two years, industry leaders have joined together to rally around one common cause – inspiring a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts. Hosted by the Outdoor Foundation, Outsiders Ball has raised over $700,000 to support 200 community projects across the country – many recommended by local retailers.
