Virginia – -(Ammoland.com)- I’ve had reports of “No guns” signs at some polling places (Henrico mostly).

Those signs, which for some reason were in the package of the various signs for each polling place, should be either down by now or coming down thanks to Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) members challenging the signs.

If you see a “no guns” sign, ask the person in charge to check with headquarters about them, as they are not legal. Let me know as well ([email protected]).

NOTE: “No guns” signs are irrelevant if at a K-12 school or a courthouse, as you can’t carry there anyhow.

But at libraries and other local government buildings – there you can carry.

Oh, and if you haven’t voted yet – VOTE!

Carry WHEREVER your polling place is, regardless of the “Gun-Free Death Zone” designation, INCLUDING SCHOOLS. Your holstered and properly concealed firearm harms no one.

Especially in light of this past election cycle, when the islamo-nazis were threatening violence at polling places. I will take the consequences that may follow the killing of jihadis in a Gun-Free Death Zone”, but at least I’ll have a chance to tell the tale.

In Texas, while carrying a firearm into an area with a properly posted sign prohibiting guns gets you a $200 fine and has no impact on your right to carry, carrying one into a polling place is a felony and you will, if convicted, loose your right to legally buy, own, and carry and can do jail time. But then you don’t seem to have much respect for the law anyway, so you would probably continue to carry after you got out of jail and were prohibited from possessing a firearm.

I have respect for laws that are not contrary to The Constitution, and having a black-robed “noble” decree it so, does not make it so. Judges are lifetime appointments, so they have nothing to lose by ruling as a judicial political-hack activist, instead of following the letter of The Constitution. They can arrest me, jail me, take away my permit, and my weapons, I WILL CONTINUE TO BE ARMED…just like the criminal element that seems to have no trouble being armed. The more these foolish laws are rendered null & void by non-compliance, and good citizens practice jury nullification, the… Read more »

I thought so.

I pastor a church in Alabama where we can open carry without a permit and conceal with a permit. Our church is a voting site and during the last municipal election I noticed the poll workers put a sign up saying “Possession of firearms on this premises is forbidden.” I told them that this premises does not prohibit firearms and the poll workers apologized and no more sign. Glad I live in Alabama.

I’ve wondered about this. I live in NC, have a CCWP, and my voting place is a local volunteer fire dept. So…..I should be able to carry and vote there right?

Check your local and state laws. In Texas it is illegal to carry a fire arm into a polling place. No sign is required, but the polling places all had cartoon signs like the one pictured, although those do not comply with Texas law and can be ignored in other contexts.
