USA – -(Ammoland.com)- First, let me say it’s good to be back after missing last week’s column. It’s been a helluva past two weeks. I’m certain I don’t need to remind you of Irma as I’m pretty confident that you were subjected to the same hysterical media coverage I experienced.

Speaking of Irma, let me just get this out of the way right now.

I hate the media.

I hate the way the reporters inflect their voices when they deliver a story, I hate the 24-hour “news” cycle, and I hate the danger that they pose to the psyche of this nation. That danger was on full display when the wall to wall coverage of hurricane Irma began about three days before it struck. I have never heard anything like it in my years on this planet especially since being a broadcaster with an eye on the leftist press for nearly the past decade. Nothing. Comes. Close.

Yes, hurricane Irma was a massive, newsworthy and perilous storm. However the hysterical, over the top, frightening descriptions were nothing short of ridiculous. The “killer monster” with “sights set directly” on Florida as the “deadly storm churned like a buzz saw, a path of death and destruction” before arriving “somewhere in the United States” to “unleash her fury, and death,” was, well, a bit much. Again, I’m not downplaying the damage this storm was capable of as I know it first hand. My parents home in Naples took a direct hit, and my many, many friends and business colleagues were directly in harm’s way. I too, have boarded up and fled approaching storms as a Florida resident in past years.

I am well aware of the destructive capability of a hurricane.

So why does this type of news coverage bother me so? Why do I need medication when I am subjected to it and what does it have to do with your guns?

Why do I even bring it up when I could be discussing the recent passage of the SHARE Act out of committee and heading for a floor vote, for example? Because I hate the media and I’m well aware that they hate us. Besides, you’ll be reading that other stuff here all week and I’ll be discussing it on air to hundreds of cities on hundreds of radio stations during both of my national radio shows. This column affords me an opportunity to change it up a little and remind you that the same hysterical media coverage you witnessed as Irma “scraped” the coast of Florida on her “march of death and destruction” up the Florida coast, is the same media that hates YOU.

I will never let you forget that the same hysterical media is fully capable of doing the same to you as a gun owner, and has in the past. Expect to see more of this type of coverage when another AR 15 is used by some whacked out dirtbag on a murderous rampage. Expect their “climate change” agenda, which was on full display during Irma coverage, to go full bore “gun grabber” when that next unfortunate event inevitably happens…and it will, I can promise you. Understand that they do this for a reason.

They do it for ratings, and they know that the more destruction and death they can show, the more money they will make.

That’s why Jim Cantore, the Weather Channel goofball was so disappointed when he found himself on the wrong side of the state a mere hours before Irma’s landfall. He fixed that by eventually making it to Ft, Myers, (still missing the mark, but I digress) and donning a kevlar vest, elbow pads and a ballistic helmet so he could make a fool of himself in the wind and rain. Yeah, that’s the lengths to which these folks will go. I can promise you, they will “set their sights” on your guns in the same hysterical fashion they “set their sights” on Irma coverage, and by that I mean, they will drive a raving, gun-grabber narrative and many Americans will fall for it.

Predicting that is as easy as predicting there will be other hurricanes during hurricane season, and I’m not even a hurricane predictor at some university out in Colorado. Funny how that works, huh?

But again, I digress.

New gun owners are being born everyday. This is true and more than just a few of the newbies are of the democrat persuasion. This is why it is important to get across to Them that the democrats want to take Theirnew guns away from Them. If that is OK with Them, continue to vote democrat.

I don’t see the media, the anti-gunners, or Cantore getting any further in their agenda, than where they were, a couple years ago. They have lost any and all legitimacy, support, and involvement by your average American. And by average, I don’t mean your run of the mill Liberal, billionaire who lives in NYC. The internet is a beautiful equalizer…the crap the media puts out is quickly identified as crap or fake news. The spin is quickly identified as propaganda and any semblance of truth is quickly dissolved into the lies they love to spread. At some point in time,… Read more »

Great article, good read, old topic but must be reiterated regularly. New firearms owners are being born everyday and need to be made aware of the simple fact that the American anti gun complex is a relentless machine that never sleeps and will never die. Knowledge is power. Education is the number one weapon in our arsenal that cab be used to effectively combat this “anti gun complex”. Never stop, carry regularly, train hard, and educate yourself and especially your children. Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.
