Gun Group Sues To Overturn NJ Magazine Ban, Minutes After Being Signed By Governor

New Jersey – Before the ink from Governor Murphy’s pen was dry on newly enacted legislation banning firearms magazines above ten rounds, Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) filed suit in federal court to overturn the new law.

“This unconstitutional law will be ignored by criminals and madmen, and affects only law-abiding citizens,” said ANJRPC executive director Scott Bach. “It turns one million people into criminals with the stroke of a pen, limits self-defense, and takes away property lawfully acquired,” continued Bach. “Buy it yesterday, ban it today, go to prison tomorrow – it’s the Jersey way, and the goal of our lawsuit is to boot this law, which makes no one safer, into the trash heap of history where it belongs.”

ANJRPC’s lawsuit highlights the many constitutional infirmities in New Jersey’s magazine ban. A federal court in California recently enjoined the operation of a similar magazine ban and ANJRPC believes New Jersey’s ban will meet a similar end – especially if the case reaches the United States Supreme Court. A link to the complaint in the case is available on ANJRPC’s website at www.anjrpc.org

This lawsuit was filed in cooperation with the National Rifle Association. “We thank the NRA for its incredible support and guidance, which made this new lawsuit possible,” said Bach.

Any New Jersey resident interested in joining ANJRPC in the lawsuit should contact us at [email protected], especially those who have ever been burglarized, robbed, attacked, or even threatened by a gang or by multiple criminals at the same time, in a documented incident.

At the same ceremony where he signed the magazine ban, Murphy also signed the other five bills in the anti-gun package passed by the legislature last week: two misguided mental health bills, an attack on right to carry, elimination of private sales, and a redundant ban on ammunition that is already federally prohibited.

Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs will soon be providing detailed legal analysis on each of the bills that were signed into law, beginning with the magazine ban. Please watch for upcoming alerts with the analysis.

Shun NJ politicians and blame them for their violation of the Bill of Rights. Never comply with unconstitutional laws and always nullify trials against patriots. We control all jury’s and we must always nullify cases against our people to keep them free. We are meant to win. They are the wolf testing our intelligence. Prove them wrong.

Now you see why Trump got rid of Chris Christie.

Melvin Harris

I thought DT got rid of Christie because he crossed genie oil in NJ. Genie oil is a Rothchild concern and Christie got greedy.

Re the recently passed N.J. Flight of Legislative Fancy, I cannot help but wonder as to what the state might do, it being faced with Jury Nullification should an individual undergo a trial on charges of violation. I. In theory, a trial jury is guided, if not bound by instruction from the bench. There is a marked difference, or there can be between theory and practice. In a criminal trial, evidence is presented, arguments pro no con are heard, and the judge charges the jury. That done, the jury has the final word, and a “hung jury” means no verdict.… Read more »

go ahead, ban whatever you like. see my double-barrel middle fingers salute? I believe in only ONE RIGHT: the right to be left the F alone. the law-abiding are the only victims, crushed between the lawless criminals who by definition do not obey laws, and the so-called lawmakers who seem to believe some kool-aid fantasy that they are our masters. um, sorry but any unconstitutional law is instantly nullified by the authority in me placed there over two centuries ago by the Framers and Founders. so F you. mic drop..

There is a misunderstanding about Hollow Point Ammunition. Not all Hollow points are made to expand and do massive damage. Most are for match grade shooting and are advertised to not be used for hunting. Back in the 80s. the Black Talon
was the ammo that was banned. They were a coated bullet that was Black in color and coated with I believe Teflon.
They supposed to be able to penetrate Bullet Proof Vests Thus the name Cop Killers.

These traitors took an oath to protect and defend the constitution of the united states of America. They are also violating the civil rights of every person in the state. Perhaps they should be subjected to a few million lawsuits filed against them by name, making them a party to the suit, suing them for civil rights violations under us code, the “under colour of law” section. This results in personal paid fines and jail time. I am no lawyer but as a cop I dealt with this over my head every day, so why not the ones that make… Read more »

They (The Liberals) are going to keep coming at us one step at a time. We need to continue to support the NRA and all that stand up for our 2nd. amendment rights.

Kim Jun Murph is the darling of the leftist twinkle toed communists. He and they intend to criminalize anyone who owns a gun. This new ban on “cop-killer” ammo has been a federal law since the 1980’s. What do you expect from a state that doesn’t allow hollow point ammo. NJ is going to one-up CA in gun ban stupidity. With a crooked politico like Bob Menendez representing NJ, it speaks volumes about the people of NJ being victimized by unscrupulous leftist opportunists.
