SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. – -(AmmoLand.com)- Retail Technology Group (RTG) announces the release of AXIS Auto-Order, the automated inventory replenishment module for the company's flagship software solution for shooting sports retailers and range operators, AXIS Retail Management System (AXIS RMS). Working conjointly with functionality provided by sister company Gearfire, the AXIS integrated Auto-Order module becomes the first and only gun store point-of-sale software that simultaneously accesses multiple wholesaler inventory feeds to automatically monitor and maintain optimal inventory stock levels.
“We have heard that many retailers in the firearm industry spend upwards of 20 hours a week monitoring stock levels and sourcing products to replenish inventory,” said Matt Steckelberg, product manager, Retail Technology Group. “Despite the large investment of time and effort, the manual order process proves to be ineffective at maintaining consistent inventory levels, resulting in both stockouts and overstocks for the retailer. Automating the replenishment process with AXIS Auto-Order™ increases operational efficiencies throughout the entire supply chain by supporting a just-in-time inventory management method that benefits both the retailer and wholesaler.”
From purchasing to receiving, the AXIS Auto-Order™ application completely automates the inventory procurement process for facilities using AXIS RMS. As on-hand quantities fall below minimum quantity thresholds, the AXIS Auto-Order™ application automatically generates a purchase order for the replacement inventory. An industry first, the retailer is given the power of choice to create a vendor preference hierarchy from the 14 – and growing – listed participating wholesalers, including the largest and most predominant distributors in the industry, to be followed as the system-generated purchase order is systematically submitted to distributors until the order is able to be fulfilled. Upon receipt, the corresponding distributor submits an acknowledgment back to the AXIS Auto-Order™ application, which is used to receive the shipment when it arrives at the retailer's store.
Additionally, the AXIS Auto-Order™ application can access and import every participating vendor's entire electronic product catalog into the AXIS RMS item file, including each vendor's unique part numbers and item costs.
AXIS-installed firearm retailers seeking to implement this unique inventory replenishment capability are provided no-cost access to AXIS Auto-Order™ functionality for 90 days. The promotion is on a first-come, first-served basis and will end at the conclusion of SHOT Show 2019. For more product information or to request the implementation of the auto-order module, visit the AXIS Auto-Order web page.
