U.S.A. -( Anti-gun Representatives tried and failed on Wednesday, September 16th to override Governor Chris Sununu’s veto of firearm seizure legislation, House Bill 687.

House Bill 687, sponsored by Representative Debra Altschiller (D-Rockingham 19), would have allowed ex parte orders to suspend Second Amendment rights without adequate due process. Further, if the order was vacated after an individual surrenders their firearms, that individual would have to go to court to have their property returned, unlike when the court wrongfully took their property away. Knowingly filing a false claim was only a misdemeanor, while violating an order was a Class B felony, punishable by three and a half to seven years of imprisonment. This extreme difference in punishments could have led to false accusations against many law-abiding individuals.

Constitutional rights should only be restricted with sufficient due process of law. Due process limits restrictions on constitutional rights to only serious convictions and adjudications that provide procedural protections to the accused, which results in more reliable proceedings. The Right to Keep and Bear Arms should not be treated as a second-class right and should only be restricted when sufficient protections are in place.

Your NRA would like to thank the Representatives who voted to sustain Gov. Sununu’s veto of this bill. Also, thank you to NRA members and Second Amendment supporters who contacted their elected officials throughout the legislative process.  Stay tuned to and your email inbox for further updates on issues affecting our Second Amendment rights.

God bless Sununu. He is the only thing keeping NH from becoming a cesspool of unconstitutional government intrusion of civil rights.

Remember her name: Debra Altschiller (D-Rockingham 19.

Make constitutional carry the law of the land with not exceptions.

Green Mtn. Boy

By the wording of the 2 nd. amendment it is the law of the land, now is the time to enforce it.

All of the OVER 25,000 Second Amendment Infringement laws across America need to be RESCINDED / TRASHED / REMOVED from every “law book”.
