U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Last week, the House Committee on Judiciary passed HB 2827 and HB 2840, legislation to prevent discrimination against the firearm industry and to improve self-defense. The bills will next be considered in the House Rules Committee on Monday, February 22nd.
House Bill 2827 prohibits financial institutions from discriminating against firearm businesses. Anti-gun banks and their executives have expressed interest in denying services to the firearm industry as a way to further their political agenda and impose gun control by making such business impossible when legislatures won’t bend to their will. This bill requires banks to evaluate firearm businesses like any other business and to consider financial risk, rather than ideology, in their decisions on providing services.
House Bill 2840 allows law-abiding citizens to store their loaded firearms in their locked personal vehicles while parked on school grounds. This ensures that parents are able to pick-up and drop-off students without first having to stop and unload their firearms before driving onto school grounds, or deviating from their route to park off campus. So called “gun-free zones” are arbitrary boundaries that only disarm law-abiding citizens and leave them defenseless while doing nothing to deter criminals.

I don’t know anyone stupid enough to comply with the gun free zone B.S. here in Arizona when picking up their kids or dropping them off at school. Same thing goes for the Post Office when they check their P.O. Box and other “gun free” zones. Stupid laws deserve to be and should be disobeyed/ignored and good laws deserve to be and should obeyed.
In Oklahoma, the vast majority of “no gun” signs [with just a few statutory exceptions] carry no ‘weight of law.’ If discovered to be armed within a posted “gun-free zone,” the firearm owner may (at the property owner’s discretion) simply be asked to leave. If so, the firearm owner must peacefully comply, or he/she may (again at the property owner’s discretion) face misdemeanor trespassing charges – but, unless there was any additional improper action (such as brandishing, etc), will not face any firearms-related charges [misdemeanor or felony]. Incrementalism is the death of our Republic. Country Club Republicans have sold freedom down the river in the name of ‘compromise.’ There is no compromise involved in the defense of natural rights. Closet progressives like the future Ambassadors Jeff Flake and Cindy McCain will never understand that because they know their lot has long since been cast with the progressives and authoritarians.
Why don’t they just make a law that makes it illegal to impose “gun free zones”? Even liberals know it is an insane idea and does not work.
