Before Booting Biden, Look Over Horizon at Harris

Kamala-Biden-NRA-ILA
When you talk about Joe Biden leaving office, it’s necessary to look over his should to see who’s waiting in the wings to take his place. IMG NRA-ILA

Fox News is reporting that Congressman Ronny Jackson (R-TX), the former White House physician, has doubts Joe Biden will finish his term as president, and he is calling on Biden to undergo an exam and disclose the results publicly.

“Our cities are EXPLODING with drugs & violence,” Jackson tweeted, “because of Democrat ‘defund the police’ policies and the GREAT UNITER Joe Biden deflects to talk about ‘sucking blood out of kids.’ He’s completely LOST it! Needs a cognitive exam NOW!”

But before anyone gets too excited about getting Biden out of office, whether it be voluntary or by invoking the 25th Amendment, better think ahead about his replacement. As vice president, Kamala Harris would immediately be sworn into office, and many believe she would be a disaster. After all, she dropped out of the Democratic primary race early, not because of Republican opposition but because she did not resonate with voters in her own party.

Her message on guns has been crystal clear since she started running for the presidency almost three years ago. She would go after gun owners, give Congress 100 days to pass the kinds of actions she supports, including a ban on so-called “assault weapons,” and if nothing happened, she would take executive action.

As reported at the time by Harper’s Bazaar, “Harris publicly committed to a host of executive actions that she would have undertaken if elected to the Oval Office, including mandating universal background checks, revoking the licenses of (and possibly prosecuting) gun manufacturers who break the law, closing a legal loophole in order to prevent those convicted of domestic violence from purchasing a firearm, and banning AR-15-style assault weapons from being imported into the country.”

When she was California attorney general, Harris was sued by gun rights and retail firearms organizations including the Second Amendment Foundation, Calguns Foundation and California Association of Federal Firearms Licensees.

Harris wants to hold gun manufacturers for crimes committed with firearms. In all, Biden may be bad but Harris has the potential to be a lot worse, and if she were to assume office 25 months into Biden’s term, she would be legally eligible to run for her own two full terms.

Bottom line is Harris would be bad news, and not just for gun owners and the Second Amendment.

Her tactic of answering questions she doesn’t want to answer by first being sarcastic and then breaking out into cackling laughter is wearing thin. That doesn’t mean she won’t continue doing it.

Democrats have wanted to be the first party to put a woman in the White House. They missed the mark with Hillary Rodham Clinton, but they might score with Harris.

Biden’s recent debacle during the CNN Townhall when his slip-of-tongue revealed he does want to ban 9mm pistols, and his other gaffes since taking office, and his shifting of gears midstream in a sentence suggest to many, including rep. Jackson, that he is not in full control of his faculties.

In a revealing piece aired by the KFMB in September 2020, the report acknowledged that what the Biden-Harris team wanted to do then was to “make the U.S. like California.” To gun owners in Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, the Dakotas, Utah, Arizona, Texas and elsewhere west of the Mississippi River, that’s the kind of discussion that starts brawls.

The only thing that could change what may be on the horizon is a Republican capture of Capitol Hill—both the Senate and the House of Representatives—in November 2022. With the GOP in control, neither Biden or Harris would accomplish anything. Should Republicans win back the House, it is not inconceivable Nancy Pelosi and other older Democrats would decide to retire.

But it would have to be a decisive GOP victory in November 2022, meaning that every gun owner would have to vote, instead of sitting the election out.

In the meantime, if Harris does somehow take the reins with a Biden departure—he will have, after all, achieved his 47-year quest to win the presidency that began when he first set foot in Washington, D.C.—there could be far more trouble than gun owners care to imagine.

That’s why talk of sending Biden home to write his memoirs should be alarming to gun owners, because while he may be losing momentum, Harris is just warming up.

I wrote in June of 2020; The marxist socialist democrats are just using biden now. However, if biden is the best they have to offer at this time they, as a party, are doomed to fail maybe for decades to come. Even if they through fraud do win the up coming election. The election of 2020 is going to go down in history as the election that either made America something each and every American can be proud of again or the one that is responsible for the fundamental transformation into a communist/marxist state. Furthermore it will be attempted whether it succeeds or fails. Let it… Read more »

Dave, you have explained perfectly preciesley WHY the Biden handlers picked Willie Brown’s former mistress as his running mate. They KNEW her rotten history on “gun rights” from way back when she was AtG of San Francisco. Her “position” on firearms is well known, and unambiguous. The best way to prevent Harris from stepping up to the Chief executive Officer is to bring up, and make stick (good luck on THAT one!!! See the kinyun’s history on the same issue) the incontrovertible FACT that Harris’ parents were neither one US Citizens at the time she was born, thus she is… Read more »

Good Morning. Wow! Did someone just wake up and smell the coffee? Getting Senile Joe out of the White House has always been part of the Democratic Party plan for the Harris-Biden administration. The only question was (and still is) whether he will go voluntarily when his handlers tell him to announce his early retirement or whether his own party will need to pull the 25th Amendment on him. The timing is likely to be determined by how long Biden’s fake “bi-partisanship” seems more useful than his constant gaffes are embarrassing. My guess is that Biden will be allowed to… Read more »

Vice President Harris will never be different than any other dyed in the wool Dem-headstrong, undeterred by reasoning argument and, worst of all, opposed to civilian gun ownership. The Democratic Party is wedded to dishonesty because of the need to conceal their goals, all focused on overbearing government. So, boys and girls, expect a rough ride, unless by some miracle (don’t take it for granted), 2022 brings a huge defeat for statist politicians.

Surely enough of the 535 members of Congress are smart enough to know that if the sitting Vice President cannot perform satisfactorily in that office, it would be a catastrophic move to promote that person to the most important job in the Country. Now that she has learned a little about the requirements and complexity of the VP’s job, and her inability to satisfactorily perform, I’m not convinced she would accept the job if it were offered. Timing may be everything here. In my mind, Harris would be unlikely to be reelected, so it’d be nice if Biden wasn’t around to do that for her. It’s almost a given the party of a newly elected president loses ground in Congress in the next election. After that, if a hairlipped Harris takes the presidency, it may be a good thing. Stifled for the rest of her short term and destined to lose the next race.

Worst case scenario: Biden resigns or is forced to. Harris becomes POTUS and selects Hillary Clinton as her VP. I don’t think anyone thinks Biden will actually make it full term. Nancy P brought up the 25th amendment right after the election. And she wasn’t talking about Trump.

Does anyone actually read the constitution any longer? The 25th Amendment requires the president to appoint a VP when there is a vacancy. Appointment has to be approved by both houses.

Back in the 70’s, Agnew resigned and Nixon replaced him with Ford. When Ford became president upon Nixon’s resignation, Ford chose Nelson Rockefeller. It is all spelled out. Harris would choose a VP.

Unfortunately, RINO Abbot is only signing weak pro-gun bills under heavy pressure from real Republicans. The bill was hardly Constitutional Carry, considering that it preserved ALL of the “gun free” zones, including the “right” of “private” firms to declare their own “gun free” zones in areas open to the public — which means massacres like El Paso will continue.

Officially Walmart bans open carry in their stores. They just don’t post 30.06 so that they can ask carriers to leave without making it a criminal matter. They (Walmart) are trying to have their cake and eat it too – they do not want to overly offend gun rights supporters, yet want to virtue signal and comfort their hoplophobic customers. Unfortunately I think it is working to some degree. I do still occasionally shop there – but only when I’m carrying concealed. No, El Paso is a great example. That there was no armed civilian resistance at Walmart is not surprising considering the extended effects of “gun free” zones. It’s predictable. A vast patchwork quilt of “gun free” zones deters carry in the non-“gun free” zones due to the hassle of planning & logistics, and the risk of being killed or prosecuted for accidentally carrying “illegally”. What’s actually worse than the known & predicable publicly-owned “gun free” zones is the unpredictable patch-work quilt of “gun free” zones decreed by “private” firms in places open to the public, like The Simon Mall chain… Read more »

Indeed. Biden is too beta to resent having “his” positions dictated by others. Harris is too egotistical to let more experienced Corruptocrats lead her by the nose, and she will stride off in her own disastrous directions. Given how badly the “experienced” people have already ticked the citizenry off by oppressing their lives and destroying their businesses, imagine how long it would take Little Miss Giggles to inspire a genuine insurrection.

However, re-establishment of a constitutionally-limited government does not fall out of any of the above. That would require a separate but equal miracle.
