Elon Musk’s Twitter Purchase Good For Gun Owners… Probably

AmmoLand News Elon Musk Twitter

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- Gun owners have never had a level playing field on Twitter… or any other social media platform. It was always as if someone was looking over your shoulder – someone always was.

Anyone who has posted support for the Second Amendment on Twitter for any length of time – I’ve had an account since 2013 – has more than a few horror stories about how they were mistreated by the platform’s community standards apparatchiks.

If a Twitter hall monitor determined a tweet violated their nebulous Twitter Rules, punishments could range from a label, which warned readers the tweet contained disputed or misleading information, to limiting the tweet’s visibility, to limiting engagements such as likes, retweets, and replies, to temporary or permanent suspensions of the offending account. To be clear, these were just the public punishments – punishments that the user was told about. The secret punishments were much more troublesome, such as shadow-banning conservative voices and deleting their followers without notice.

I hope Elon Musk makes public the nefarious algorithms and biased practices that have punished and bedeviled conservative Twitter users since the site began.

Why put up with Twitter’s obvious anti-conservative bias?

Because, as Musk himself just tweeted, “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.”

In other words, if you value your message, Twitter is a good vehicle to get your message heard.

Info is Ammo

If I had a dollar for every time someone said we need a conservative-friendly platform similar to Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube, I’d have enough to buy a really good bottle of bourbon. It’s certainly not easy to create a new social media platform, as we have seen with President Donald Trump’s new site, Truth Social, ( Follow AmmoLand News on Truth Social @AmmoLand) and the growing pains it was experiencing. There were thousands of folks waiting for access in Truth Social’s online queue, but after a partnership with Rumble, TS expanded capacity, and those waiting made it onto the platform. But before that correction, the few early Truthers complained there was limited engagement – in other words, there’s no one to talk to.

The one thing Twitter and Facebook have now, which a new site will always struggle to achieve, is that they are platforms in common usage, not unlike an AR Rifle – everybody’s got one. Twitter definitely has its share of problems, which we hope Musk will fix, but nearly everyone has the app on their phone or laptop. Common usage is extremely important, especially now, because we need the numbers.

The Biden-Harris administration’s war on our guns uses secrecy as a weapon – private White House meetings held in backrooms without transcripts or public notice, where unelected officials plot how to infringe upon our Second Amendment rights. Only by publicly exposing these secret gatherings can these secret gatherings be stopped.

Information has become ammunition in Joe Biden’s war on our guns. This is why the gun-banners and the rest of the left are so violently and vehemently opposed to Musk’s purchase. They have relied upon Twitter’s censorship of conservative thoughts and ideas for years. Now, once the censorship is removed as Musk has promised to do, they cannot fathom a society where speech is actually free and not something they can rigidly control.

Twitter has long been the province of the mainstream journalist. Many – especially the blue checkmarks at CNN, or anti-gun NBC hack, Vaughn Hillyard  – use it as a reporting tool. The legacy media’s stranglehold on free speech is now ending too, thanks to Mr. Musk, and they’re pushing back hard, especially on liberal networks like CNN, NBC, and MSLSD. If the Lemons, Maddows, and Reids of the world are united in opposition to anything, it must be a boon for those who value personal freedoms and individual liberties such as free speech, right?

For now, at least until Musk proves me wrong, I will continue to rely upon Twitter as an information source and to post my stories. You can find them here.

Believe it when I see it. Stop acting like Musk is suddenly our friend. He just this weeks “I stand with…” project that y’all are jumping at.

swmft

he is not our friend ..But he does believe in doing the right thing. Owner of electric car company saying we need to drill more oil to keep prices stable and investing in oil co is the right thing. he has never said he is pro 2a but has said he believes in the bill of rights , so he is not good or bad but protecting free speech is good for US and us

Never heard Musk say anything anti-gun, don’t understand the hate. Some real sour puss attitudes against the guy. He’s pulling out of Cali to protest covid mandates & other “woke” tyranny. Spending $42B to end commie censorship at Twitter. But some folks are never satisfied. Nothing’s ever enough. They say “he’s not our friend”, but no solid evidence to prove he’s our enemy. Do they want him to take a loyalty oath in public, in which he agrees with every single thing they want (and probably give them his money too)? Unrealistic.

Open source is a two edged sword. While it will reveal what Twitter’s algorithms are doing right and wrong it will also illuminate any path to the advantage of abusers. Plugging these holes adds to complexity. Complexity makes more holes.

The real test is to see who gets banned after Musk gets operational control, and which of the already banned are given access again. IMHO if you are still using Twitter you are part of the problem.

Musk has accomplished great things example SpaceX employing folks around the world doing what the federal government & NASA could not do. If you are so inclined to watch a launch and how the people at SpaceX aplaude there own accomplishments as young Americans it is inspiring. Musk Tesla are household words in the 21 first century we all have different points of views electric cars the simple fact is that the big automakers are playing catch up in a environment Musk created. Twitter we all hope it works out for free speech as social media is nothing more the… Read more »

There are others who have forged the way for free speech before Musk, such as Don Bongino and Ben Shaprio.

Rumble is a big free speech advocate and provides server support for other organizations, like Amazon Web Services with out the police state mentality.

Musk can help accelerate the freedom experience, but he isn’t part of the veterans of the modern free speech movement.

And it remains to be seen if he will allow all legal communications about firearms and owning and carrying firearms.

And will he allow lying communications from illegal groups such as the ATF?

The left is Anti-liberty NOT anti-gun

Isn’t it strange how the Anti-liberty left pretends to be advocates of democracy and liberty and yet they cannot abide the concept of free speech, freedom of the press and of course, the common-sense civil right of self defense? “The champions of socialism call themselves progressives, but they recommend a system which is characterized by rigid observance of routine and by a resistance to every kind of improvement. They call themselves liberals, but they are intent upon abolishing liberty. They call themselves democrats, but they yearn for dictatorship. They call themselves revolutionaries, but they want to make the government omnipotent.… Read more »

True. Also:

“Folks who call themselves ‘Libertarians’ champion private property, liberty & gun rights. Yet nearly all oppose borders & numerical immigration limits, effectively working to overwhelm the natural-born citizen’s voting control of his country, redistribute & destroy real median income & wealth (including the citizen’s share of public wealth), jack up the cost of living, real estate, ‘housing’ & privacy, advance globalism, socialism, corruption, police-state fascism, crime, gun control & tyranny, and end the USA as an independent constitutional republic.” -Me

Both of them are the enemy and or not our friends

Russn8r

If you mean Gates & the Prego Gates Emoji, I agree.

At a minimum, however, Elon Musk is the enemy of my enemy.

Elon isn’t our friend. Don’t get things sideways because he’s this weeks “I stand with…”

Arny

Twitter another tracking tool. lol

Don’t see how he’s not “our” friend? Evidence?

He spent $42B to end DemCom pervert censorship at Twitter, making this possible again:

He’s pulling out of Cali over “woke” tyranny, covid mandates.

Some folks are never happy. Nothing ever enough. Should he take a loyalty oath on every single thing you want?

If he hoses me I’ll see it differently. Till then he’s the enemy of my enemy.
