The anti-gun crowd tries desperately to debunk the fact that it takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun. Why? Because if they were to admit it was true, they would have to admit that gun control makes good people vulnerable and helpless. In their narcissistic delusion, they must win the gun debate at all costs, even if it means the loss of innocent life.
Raul Mendez and his family attended a party at a friend’s house on July 3, 2022, when an uninvited neighbor of the host entered the party and started shooting people. Two innocent people were killed. Raul watched his friend get shot in the throat and die before his very eyes. The killer then shot Raul in the head. The bullet entered the right side of Raul’s head destroying his jaw, eye socket, nose and eventually coming out the other side of his face and taking his left eye with it.
When Raul’s seven-month-pregnant wife ran to his rescue and saw him lying lifeless on the floor, she was convinced he was dead. After attempting to wake and bring him to consciousness, she remembered her two daughters were in a bedroom nearby and could possibly be the killer’s next victims. She grabbed her daughters and three other children, forced them into the bedroom closet, covered them with clothes, told them to keep quiet, and barricaded the door while she waited in fear for the killer to enter the room.
Meanwhile, as the killer entered the living room, people scattered and ran for their lives. Raul still lay unconscious in the kitchen. The killer debilitated a man in the living room and then shot him in the head execution style as he lay defenseless on the floor.
The killer then entered the master bedroom, where three women and two children hid. Raul’s wife, daughters, and three other children were still in the bedroom in another part of the house at the time. The killer attempted to shoot down the master bedroom door and hit one of the female victims in the bedroom. Raul remained unconscious on the kitchen floor. Despite being shot, the woman engaged the killer in a physical confrontation while calling out for Raul’s help. Another woman then found an AR-15 but didn’t know how to load it or use it, so she hit the killer with the rifle, buying just enough time for Raul to regain consciousness and make his way toward the screams. Both women attempted to wrestle and attack the killer to avoid any further carnage.
Having been shot in the head, Raul miraculously engaged the killer and used his own concealed 45 caliber, Glock 36, to put four rounds into the chest of the maniac, dropping him instantly, ending the brutal attack.
We hope we never have to experience Raul’s story firsthand, but if it wasn’t for the bravery of Raul, his wife and the other women at the party along with Raul’s concealed firearm, only God knows how many people would’ve died that day.
When dangerous anti-gun lobby groups and misguided gun-control supporters speak out against your right to carry a gun and encourage Legislators to force you into unarmed helplessness, they are putting you and your family at risk. They have no right to turn others into victims, yet they pursue their agenda despite the loss of life they leave in their political wake. When anti-gun politicians, celebrities and partisan media personalities stand on the graves of dead children to push their gun control agenda, remember Raul’s story.
