Cinemark Theaters Was On Notice Their NO GUNS Policy was a Gun Free Killing Zone

Manasquan, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- As far back as 2009 pro gun activists had made Cinemark management aware that their NO Guns Policy was just creating a gun free zone where only the inncent and lawabiding would be unarmed.
“Headquartered in Plano, TX, Cinemark Holdings, Inc. is a leader in the motion picture exhibition industry with 459 theatres and 5,181 screens in the U.S. and Latin America as of March 31, 2012,” their website reports.
Cinemark owns the Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, scene of last night’s mass shooting. Cinemark doesn’t allow anyone other than law enforcement officers to carry legal firearms in their theaters.
The ban hadn’t escape the attention of some of Cinemark’s law-abiding, gun-toting customers—even before last night’s homicidal frenzy…”

I guaran-dang-tee you that there were a number of patrons in that theater who were packing heat, but when push came to shove, they ran like everyone else because that’s what instinct tells a person to do. Moreover, introducing more guns into that situation would likely have made matters WORSE–not better.
. . . and, yes, I do have a CHL, and I do carry! But I’m also a criminologist and former cop; this is my bailiwick. Guns aren’t the answer. If more guns made people safer, there never would have been a WILD West!
A robbery is different than a deranged lunatic who went to the theater ONLY to kill….For all we know the robbers had absolutely no intention to shoot anyone….Holmes on the other hand WENT OUT to shoot people.
You can’t compare outcomes in robberies to Aurora/Virginia Tech type of shootings…where the killers went out just to kill.
But I agree that gun free zones are stupid
For Will to say introducing more guns would have made the situation worse is obscene. If it had been your wife or daughter laying in a pool of blood would you say the same? This is the same “we know better than you and the founders” mentality that is destroying America. They did what people like Will tell them to do – they waited on the police, and 12 innocent people are dead
I understand you should pick your fights(when to run or make your stand) ,if this isn’t a time to stand and fight for life….you can’t let evil run unchallenged.
