Ronkonkoma, Long Island –-(Ammoland.com)- Long Island Firearms.com www.longislandfirearms.com/forum, the premier online gathering place for firearms enthusiasts in the greater New York area, reacted to “Super Storm” Sandy by providing its members and online visitors with an online discussion board dedicated to storm news and networking for recovery.

The dedicated storm board, which continues to dominate the website’s chatters, generated over 162 individual topics, which contained a total of 2500 posts, and boasted over 1,000,000+ views as of November 3rd 2012.

Through the boards, members and visitors were able to get information about the storm itself, where they could find food, water, ice, gasoline, generators, and other vital supplies in their towns. In addition, members are able to network and pool resources to help one another out.

The outpouring of support between the thousands of members on the forum during these hard times is amazing, says Steven Blair, administrator of the forum. Members going out at all hours of the day and night volunteering their supplies, time, and talents truly show how citizens band together for the greater good during these times.

LIF has long been known for its ‘members helping members’ motto, but there is little doubt that to the many people affected by this disaster that were able to get convenient, helpful, and even life saving information from these boards; LIF is more than just a place to talk about guns. It is a real tangible community- both online, and off.
