Blake Miguez Wins Area 4 Limited Match

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. -(AmmoLand.com)- Blake Miguez of New Iberia, La., won the Limited Pistol division at the United States Practical Shooting Association’s Area 4 Regional Championships held November 14-16 in San Angelo, Texas.

Miguez, who won five of the 12 stages, took the Limited title by just over 62 points after taking an early lead on the first stage and holding it through to the end for a final score of 1120.5308 match points.

He was one of three Grand Master level shooters competing in the division. Grand Master is the highest skill level in the sport of Practical Shooting.

“Blake shot a strong match from start to finish and once he grabbed the lead on the first stage, he never let go,” said Dave Thomas, USPSA’s executive director.

Ted Bonnet of San Antonio, Texas, finished second with 1058.0721. Scott Reese of Bastrop, Texas, took third with a score of 1023.3248. Rounding out the top five were Chad Folger of Houston, Texas, in fourth with 1017.8234 and David Weers of La Vernia, Texas, in fifth with 1012.3692.

A total of 120 top pistol shooters competed in USPSA’s Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production, Revolver and Single Stack divisions at the regional championship.

The USPSA Area 4 region includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas but competitors from Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico, New York and Utah attend.
