SHACKLESFORD, VA –-(Ammoland.com)- Team International Training, Inc. (ITI), wraps up their competitive 2010 season with eleven state and regional championships in the Master Class of IDPA, an additional fourteen finishes in the top five positions of the Master and Expert Class of IDPA and three finishes in the top three positions of USPSA competitions.

Composed of seven members with varying skill levels and disciplines, Team ITI served as ambassadors in 2010 to the shooting sports industry and displayed how skills learned from their many courses in Virginia and Texas could benefit the competitive shooter.

“I’d like to thank all of Team ITI for such a fantastic first competition year and all the match directors who helped put the matches together in 2010,” commented Rob Middaugh, Operations Manager, ITI Virginia and Team ITI Captain.

“We look forward to having an even more successful year next year and to expanding our team and our match exposures.”

Highlights of Team ITI’s 2010 competitive season include:

  • Morgan Allen, Master Class Enhanced Service Pistol competitor, completed 2010 with 11 State and Regional ESP Champion titles
  • Gary Byerly, Master Class Custom Defensive Pistol competitor, took home two SSP Championship titles, one ESP Champion title and multiple 2nd and 3rd place finishes
  • Brian Cutler, Master Class Enhanced Service Pistol competitor, took home two first place finishes in the 2010 Law Enforcement United Tactical Shootout and 2010 Trooper Troy D. Ashe Memorial Police Pistol Tournament
  • Jason Maples, Master Class Stock Service Pistol competitor, won several 3rd and 5th place Overall Production Division titles in USPSA competitions
  • Brandon Wright, ITI Senior Instructor and Master Class Stock Service Pistol Competitor, took home 5 Division Titles and several Top 5 Finishes

About Rob Middaugh, Team Captain
Rob Middaugh began his competitive shooting career in IDPA over two years ago. He holds an Expert Class level along with several top three finishes in his class. Currently the Operations Manager for the ITI Virginia Campus, Middaugh has been a Firearms Instructor with ITI for 12 years. He has over 20 years of Military and Law Enforcement experience.

About Morgan Allen
It’s hard to believe that Morgan Allen has only been shooting pistols since 2005, considering he has over 20 IDPA State and Regional Division Championship titles under his belt since 2007. Having moved up the ladder from an IDPA Novice to Master in only 14 months, Allen has also won three top five Division finishes at the Smith & Wesson Indoor Nationals. Allen is an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, as well as an IDPA Safety Officer and PPC Master.

About Gary Byerly
Gary Byerly has been competing in IDPA matches for the past eight years and USPSA and 3-Gun matches for five years. He is an IDPA ESP and SSP Master, as well as a six-time IDPA State Champion. Byerly is a Master in Production and holds an “A” Classification in Open and Limited in USPSA. Byerly is also a three time Area class winner.

About Brian Cutler
Brian Cutler is ranked as a Master by the IDPA and actively competes in IDPA, 3-Gun, and Law Enforcement matches. Since he started shooting competitively, Cutler has been a top-5 finisher in his division and classification in over 20 matches. Most recently, Cutler won 1st-place at the 2010 Law Enforcement United Tactical Shootout, as well as 1st-place at the 2009 Police Unity Tour Tactical Shootout. Cutler serves part-time as an instructor at ITI’s Virginia campus. As both a police officer and a competitive shooter, Cutler knows first-hand the advancements in techniques and fundamentals that competitive shooting brings to the tactical training world.

About Jason Maples
Jason Maples has five years of IDPA and USPSA match competition experience. Primarily competitive in USPSA, he is currently an “A” Class shooter in Limited, Production and Open divisions. He is also a classified “B” shooter in Limited 10 and Single Stack divisions. Maples law enforcement career began in 1998 as a full-time police officer for the City of Sevierville in East Tennessee. In 2003 he was hired as an Agent for the U.S. Border Patrol. He has also served as a firearms instructor for the Sevierville Police Department, as well as for the U.S. Border Patrol. Maples is also certified as a M4 carbine instructor.

About Robbie McGinnis
Robbie McGinnis spent 23 years serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he conducted maritime operations in the Caribbean and Persian Gulf. He has been employed with ITI as a Staff Instructor for the past five years. McGinnis currently serves as a Firearms Instructor, as well as the Driving Team Leader, and specializes in hard surface, off-road, unimproved road and armored vehicle operations. 2010 is McGinnis’ first year of competitive shooting, where he is on his way to being classified in USPSA matches. McGinnis’ specialty thus far has been in 3-Gun matches.

About Brandon Wright
Brandon Wright served four years as a Law Enforcement Officer and four years as a State Trooper in the Virginia State Police. In addition, Wright was a member of the local police department S.W.A.T. Team. Wright has over eight years experience as a Firearms Instructor, which he puts into practice at ITI as their Senior Firearms Instructor. He is an IDPA Master Class shooter and is currently awaiting classification in USPSA Production and Limited Divisions. He has won several IDPA SSP Division Championships in 2010 to include Coastal Bend and East Coast Championship. He has also placed within the top five in SSP at the Smith & Wesson Indoor Championship and at the Carolina Cup in 2010.
