Shelby Township, MI –-(Ammoland.com)- The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) announced today that USA Shooting teammates Kim Rhode and former Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) National Champion, Caitlin Connor, captured Gold and Silver Medals respectively in Women's Skeet at the ISSF World Cup Championships being held in Sydney, Australia. SCTP is the Official Clay Target Youth Development Program of USA Shooting.

Rhode, the four-time Olympic Medalist, made it to the finals with the highest qualification score of 72 hits and then proceeded to shoot a perfect score, 25 out of 25, in the finals round to win Gold. Teammate Caitlin Connor, one of six former SCTP National Champions who are competing at the ISSF World Cup, entered the finals just one target behind Rhode with 71 hits and also shot a perfect score of 25 out of 25 in the finals to win the Silver Medal.

The 2011 Sydney World Cup, the second leg of the ISSF World Cup Championships, has 64 nations represented with 721 competitors in the Olympic sports of rifle, pistol and shotgun.

USA Shooting has 34 athletes participating in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun at the 2011 Sydney World Cup. 40% of the USA Shotgun Team (6 athletes) and all three members of the Men's Skeet Team are former SCTP National Champions. The USA Shooting Team has the youngest Men's Team, competing in the ISSF World Cup Series and at the World Clay Target Championships in Belgrade, Serbia later this year.

Athletes are members of the United States National Team at USA Shooting; based at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. USA Shooting is the National Governing Body for Olympic Shooting Sports in the United States.
