Ramseur, NC -(Ammoland.com)- Project Appleseed is an activity of The Revolutionary War Veterans Association and dedicated to teaching every American our shared heritage and history as well as traditional rifle marksmanship skills.

The Revolutionary War Veterans Association is a non-profit organization operated by volunteer instructors. Our volunteer instructors travel across the country teaching those who attend about the difficult choices, the heroic actions, and the sacrifices that the Founders made on behalf of modern Americans for our country’s freedom and independence.

Project Appleseed’s heritage program vividly portrays the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Modern listeners are confronted with the danger, the fear, and the heartbreaking separations that arose out of the choices made on April 19th, 1775. They are also reminded of the marksmanship skills and masterful organization that ultimately helped set the colonists on the path to success. Those who attend gain a better understanding of the fundamental choices faced by our ancestors as they began to set the stage for the nation we now enjoy.

The Project Appleseed weeklong “Rifleman Boot Camp” marksmanship clinic will be held on Mar. 29 – Apr. 3 at the Revolutionary War Veterans Association home range, located at Willie Wright Rd & Royal Ridge Rd, Ramseur, NC 27316. Registration begins at 8am. The clinic starts at 8:30 a.m. and will continue until 5:00 p.m. each day. Participants are taught fundamental rifle marksmanship skills that are to allow a rifleman to be accurate out to 400 yards, with iron sights, a standard rifle and surplus ammo.

Instruction will be conducted on the firing range at multiple distances, including 25 yards, 100 yards, 200 yards, 300 yards, and 400 yards. Students will learn rifle shooting from the standing, sitting, and prone positions, along with safe gun handling, proper use of a sling, and Revolutionary War history.

Well-renowned Project Appleseed Florida instructor and shoot boss, Ken Tomblin, will give insightful and detailed instruction in both a classroom setting and during on-range practical training exercises throughout the weeklong event. Ken Tomblin regularly instructs at many 2-day Project Appleseed rifle marksmanship weekend events throughout Florida, usually about 30 events per year, and is a seasoned and notable rifle instructor. He has most recently been featured by the Florida media on the front page of the Pensacola News-Journal newspaper and on a live on-air morning newscast interview on Tallahassee ABC News – WTXL.
