Note: Not all manufacturers have 22 Nosler options on their websites, yet. Nosler recommends calling these manufacturers directly for information on their 22 Nosler rifle options.

The following manufacturers have added the 22 Nosler:

Montana Rifle Company

Phoenix Weaponry

Alex Pro Firearms

Radical Firearms

The 22 Nosler was designed to transform the performance of any standard .223/5.56mm AR-15 into the fastest, most powerful .22 caliber available in the AR platform.

With the overwhelming popularity and modularity of the AR-15 rifle, upgrading an existing rifle to the new cartridge was made to be easy and hassle-free requiring only a swap of the upper, or even just the barrel, and switching to a 6.8 Rem SPC magazine.

This effortless, two-step retrofit allows shooters to experience the 22 Nosler’s lightning-fast, hard-hitting performance, while still being able to use their existing .223 bolt carrier group. With that quick change, 22 Nosler shooters will get 30% more energy and nearly 300 fps faster than a 223 Remington/ 5.56 NATO.

Bob, I think you are correct. How much more effective range can you get out of one of these carbines anyway? Not enough to make it worth the expenditure I’d bet.

Now that I have 4 AR’s in 5.56 and 10,000 rounds or so of 5.56 they come out with the 22 Nosler……Nice.

When I can afford an AR rifle with a 20-24 inch barrel, or just a new upper, the 22 Nosler makes a lot of sense for hunting rifle or a long range target rifle.
I wonder, for 80 grain bullets, what twist is best? With the higher velocity, maybe 1:8 or even 1:9 would be goo for heavy bullets. But 1:12 and 1:14 seem to be the choice for 22-250 varmint bolt guns.
Maybe I need two uppers?
