Virginia Citizens Defense League Lobby Day 2018

Virginia – -( From EM Ken Van Wik, who is the 2018 Virginia Citizens Defense League Lobby Day Coordinator:

The election is behind us, and I’m sure we all share significant disappointment over the results. We can either give up hope, or we can fight.

I say we fight!

Virginia Citizens Defense League Lobby Day is in front of us: Monday, January 15, 2018. THAT is where we need to be to fight for our rights.

Virginia has over 450,000 CHP holders. Let’s get a significant percentage of those folks to show up and speak up!

We need to get as many CHP holders as we can to attend. And certainly, EVERY Virginia Citizens Defense League member should be there.

What can YOU do, in addition to merely showing up? Good question!

We still need several team leaders to lead groups of (roughly) a dozen VCDLers through meetings with our legislators. As a team leader, you’ll be setting up meetings with an assigned list of Delegates and/or Senators. You’ll guide and steer your team through the meetings. You’ll ensure your team remains on schedule and shows up for all of your scheduled meetings. That sort of thing.

You'll also hand VCDL's 2018 Gun Bill Analysis document to each legislator on your list.

I am organizing the team leaders this year and will do everything possible to ensure each team succeeds. But first, I need several more volunteers! Are YOU up to the task? I already have some volunteers, but I need many more.

We can all email Senator Warner and Senator Kaine about this. Suggested text to copy/paste (slightly modified from this article): 1. Since the Senator is supposed to be representing Virginia and not New York, he needs to support National Concealed Carry Reciprocity 2. As of last year, Virginia recognizes concealed carry permits from all states. The General Assembly and Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe have spoken on this matter so that National Reciprocity would change nothing for Virginia 3. The 450,000 Virginia CHP holders would benefit from being able to carry in the rest of the 49 states. Senator Warner’s email… Read more »
