USA – -(Ammoland.com)- The Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight, one of the most popular pump-action shotguns of all time, is observing its 80th Anniversary in 2017 and a themed pair of Model 37s has been chosen as the 2018 SHOT Show Auction Shotguns.

In a fitting tribute to the Model 37 on its 80th Anniversary , the Ithaca Gun Company, Hunting Heritage Trust and Baron Engraving have teamed to create a pair of Model 37s which memorialize the early days of the Model 37 while also celebrating the bottom-ejector’s 21st-Century appeal.

To memorialize the earliest days of the Model 37, the artisans at Baron Engraving have recreated a 12-gauge with elaborate scroll design and classic upland and waterfowling scenes in Grade 1 engraving. The engraving patterns are featured in the definitive history of Ithaca, “The Ithaca Gun Company-From the Beginning.” The 12-gauge Model 37 features a 28-inch vent-rib barrel with authentic (?) bead sight. The gun will feature serial number 80MODEL3701.

The second Featherlight in the pair is a hand-engraved and gold-inlayed 20 gauge. This presentation grade 20 gauge with 26-inch barrel features the original engraved hunting scenes that have been featured on the Featherlight throughout its 80-year history. The right side of the receiver shows the traditional waterfowling scene hand-engraved, with gold-inlayed waterfowl. The left side features the well-known upland hunting scene with gold-inlayed pointer and flushing pheasant. This 20-gauge will feature serial number 80MODEL372001.

Both Model 37s will feature hand-checkered AAA fancy American walnut.

“Ithaca has a long and rich history in the annals of United States sporting firearms,” commented company President, Dave Dlubak. “Ithaca’s reputation for quality and reliability made it a popular chose for upland and waterfowl hunters as well as competition shooters such as Annie Oakley and John Phillip Sousa.”

“Ithaca fans know that the company has changed hands since the Model 37 was first introduced–and they also know that the present day, Made-in-America, Featherlights are as smooth, reliable and handsome as those from generations ago,” Dlubak said.

The themed-pair of Model 37s will be auctioned as a pair at www.GunBroker.com beginning on December 17, 2017 and ending on the final day of the SHOT Show, Friday, January 26, 2018.

The annual SHOT Show Auction is an official SHOT Show program, administered for the National Shooting Sports Foundation by the Hunting Heritage Trust.
