Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)-  The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) announced support for a lawsuit brought by Guns Save Life challenging the Village of Deerfield, Illinois’ gun confiscation ordinance.

The lawsuit challenges Deerfield’s recent attempt to criminalize so-called “assault weapons” and “high capacity magazines” within village limits.

“Every law-abiding villager of Deerfield has the right to protect themselves, their homes, and their loved ones with the firearm that best suits their needs,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of NRA-ILA. “The National Rifle Association is pleased to assist Gun Save Life in defense of this freedom.”

By amending an existing 2013 ordinance, the Village Board of Trustees has now empowered local authorities to confiscate and destroy all so-called “assault weapons” and “high capacity magazines” possessed within village limits. The amendment also imposes a daily fine ranging between $250 and $1,000.

“We are going to fight this ordinance, which clearly violates our member’s constitutional rights, and with the help of the NRA I believe we can secure a victory for law-abiding gun owners in and around Deerfield,” said John Boch, president of Guns Save Life.

Wrong……What will happen is freedom loving people will not have their rights to own the gun of their choice to protect their family and exercise their right to bear arms. Time to support and rejoin the NRA.

Please post the legal complaint so we can evaluate it.

This is what will happen if the action is successful. The NRA as magnanimous as they are will politicize the win, and take all the credit, because after all they are nothing but glory hounds.
Think about it, Fast, and furious, and other things they had to be pushed into, and afterward they try to take all the glory for themselves.
I divorced myself from that organization years ago, and they still continue to send me mail wanting me to rejoin, and still call me asking for money.
