GENESEO, IL –-(Ammoland.com)- Springfield Armory is severing ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, in response to their hiring a group for anti-Second Amendment lobbying.
This latest action follows Dick’s Sporting Goods’ decision to remove and destroy all modern sporting rifles (MSR) from their inventory. In addition, they have denied Second Amendment rights to Americans under the age of 21. We at Springfield Armory believe that all law abiding American citizens of adult age are guaranteed this sacred right under our Constitution.
It is clear where Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, stand on the Second Amendment, and we want to be clear about our message in response. Their position runs counter to what we stand for as a company. At Springfield Armory, we believe in the right and principles fought for and secured by American patriots and our founding forefathers, without question.
We will not accept Dick’s Sporting Goods’ continued attempts to deny Second Amendment freedoms to our fellow Americans.

Your right Dicks has their rights to pick the products they wish to carry. The same goes for it’s customer base and it’s vendors. Thus with this decision Dicks has lost almost 15% in total revenues which translates into a loss of customer base, apparently “Gun Nuts” have chosen to patronize elsewhere as it is their right to do so. I believe that Second Amendment activists are merely fighting back against the lost of freedom that has been brought to them by the societal malcontents, hard core unemployables, and democrat national socialists.

I never cared much for Dick’s Sporting Goods before, they didn’t have a good selection of guns, or ammo, and their pricing was out of line, so now I really have no reason to go to Dick’s. I can spend my money at more sociable places to purchase my firearms and ammo from, basically I didn’t care for their stores to start with so now I don’t have to go there at all now!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Springfield’s stand against Dicks. No question there. What I’d like to see is Springfield bring back that factory from Croatia, bring the jobs back home and keep it American. Buy American not Croatian.
The Dick heads at Dick’s need to remove “Sporting Goods” from their name. “Whining” and “Bedwetting” are not “sports”.
More good news. I always liked the small shops/sole proprietors before going to the big box. Better customer service, better and more knowledgeable counter personnel. Dick’s has assisted and continues to assist small guns/sport shops in growing their businesses and bottom lines.

While I applaud Springfield Armory I am missing something. How can they sever their ties with a bunch of dicks at Dicks if the company previously decided to stop selling firearms?

Dick’s has turned their backs on the very folks who are holding this country together. While I am encouraged by Springfield’s press release, I am also a little puzzled by what it does not say. I feel that Springfield could have used more forceful words by actually stating that they will no longer sell its firearms to the Dick’s Sporting Goods chain. Unfortunately, Springfield’s press release doesn’t say that; I wish it did, because that would have much more definitive impact.

Obama and many liberals have inferred or outright stated that they want confiscation of all firearms not just the black ones. Your statement is incorrect and a misconception of Trump’s actual statement your trying to quote and apparently spread lies about. Trump actual statement was in reference to bump stocks after the Las Vegas incident asking the DOJ and ATF to revisit their original ruling allowing the sale of them.
