In 1943, in the midst of WWII, America’s military personnel wouldn’t be home for the holidays. And my dad was among them. That still rings true today.
As we gather with loved ones this holiday season, tens of thousands of American soldiers, sailors, airmen, guardsmen and Marines won’t be home this year either.
They, and many of America’s nearly one million law officers, will be on duty – on land, in the sea and in the air – shielding us from adversaries. Defending our freedom. All that, in harm’s way.
Unfortunately, the very freedoms they’re protecting are under siege from powerful, wealthy oligarchs who are financing a Disarm America Movement. In January, the new Congress they helped shape will introduce more disarmament bills than ever before. The sacred pillars of our heritage and way of life – our flag, our national anthem, our freedom of religious expression and our Second Amendment – are now at risk.
I know what it’s like to be away from home for the holidays. I also learned as a U.S. Marine, the only way to rout a determined adversary is to stand and fight. And I know the only organization with the strength and resolve to defeat the Disarm America Movement is the National Rifle Association.

Ironically, the same day the Bump Stock Ban/Confiscation regulation was announced, I received an e-mail asking me to re-new my NRA membership. I had to ask what else were they willing to compromise away? I replied to the e-mail that I would instead join the National Gun Owners Association, who actually does fight for our rights.
