About Babes with Bullets

Babes with Bullets is the only US traveling firearms academy to offer handgun and rifle training to women at all levels. Taught by an all-female team of national and world shooting sports champions, our three-day gun camps are designed to teach women to safely and confidently handle and operate a firearm in an informal “camp” atmosphere.

The first event was held in April, 2004, at the Louisiana home range of head instructor, Kay Clark Miculek. Deb Ferns, a novice shooter who shot a gun for the first time at age 45, was invited by Lisa Munson to attend the 2004 event. After a successful weekend of women teaching women to shoot in a supportive environment, the three ladies (Deb, Kay and Lisa) decided to offer similar camps at other locations across the country. With the assistance of Smith & Wesson, the women launched the Babes with Bullets firearms academy. More than a dozen years later, with over 5,200 alumnae, the Babes with Bullets camps continue to grow in popularity, and the company has expanded its’ programming to include a co-ed 3-gun camp, an annual 3-gun Challenge, and a novice ladies hunt.

As an attendee of the very first BWB camp in 2004, I can attest to the successful way these instructors help ladies of all shooting levels to excel. I feel extremely lucky that, as a new shooter, I learned from the best shooter ladies in the world: (Athena, Kay, Lisa, Julie) and it’s an experience I will never forget!
